Hosiery is making a come back ….thank god!!!!

I know that is different for us than in colder climates, but i have noticed in those rubbish celeb mags that the stars are wearing hosiery more often. I for one am really pleased about this from two main angles.First, is there are alot women out there in need of support on their legs if you know what i mean. Nice stocking,tights and pantyhose can hide alot of imperfections. I just think it looks better to everyone and I am sure men find them alluring on women, I certainly do.
Second is I like to wear hosiery, I have spoken to so many girls and the first piece of female attire they tried was hosiery, this was certainly the case for me, they just looked so nice and sensation is like nothing you ever get in male clothing. In fact there is a push from all the hosiery manufacturers to produce a male line of hosiery and if the net is to be believed they are selling very well.
For a while it seemed like the only people left in the world wearing hosiery were trannies, and thus it distinguished us from GG’s which is the last thing we want. My legs are so knocked about from my youth as a BMX rider then a mountain biker plus working in the building industry that I feel my legs are transformed by hosiery, how i wish i dressed in corporate clothes to go to work. I could wear my tights everyday and there is nothing i would like more.If you “image goggle” a pop group call “girls aloud” you rarely see their publicity pics without them in hosiery and they look stunning for it. I wish I knew their stylist personally because he/she knows how to dress a woman thats for sure.
When i was in the uk in November I bought a boat load of pantyhose they were so nice and so cheap plus the ones I got really match my skin tone, funny though it didn’t say “pasty ranga” on the packaging. LOL

I agree, there is nothing like a nice pair of stockings or tights. I’m not perfect, I do have a little bit of blue vein cheese in my legs (varicose veins!) and they do get hidden quite well. But yeah, definitely a colder weather or special occasion (in summer) item though because they just can’t be worn in the heat. To be honest, they are in the same boat so to speak as knee high boots unfortunately!

I always wear hosiery with a dress or skirt all year with the exception of the hottest of hot days!
Hosiery is just one of those clothing items that feels “natural” to wear whether its with sandals in Summer or patterned tights in Winter with knee boots.
Hosiery is versatile for your looks, whether its to hide leg imperfections, hightlight your legs with a special outfit or for just practical rasons like keeping your legs warm and comfotable.
I don’t have an obsession with hosiery, but I do enjoy wearing all types and styles of hosiery on pretty much a daily basis.

Being in perth where it seems to be hot all the time (yes I’m a whinging pom)
i simply can’t wear hosiery all the time although I would like to.
I never feel properly dressed if I am not wearing them, but there again I know that some of the girls here in WA do wear them even on the hottest days and it doesn’t look right to be honest.
One even used to wear black pantyhose with white sandals ewwwww yuck, talk about granny look. LOLLove Lilly xxx

I agree, I love to wear stockings and they do hide the hairs on my legs apart from looking nice.
But when it is in the mid 30s I am afraid it is too hot for stockings or pantihose so I just have to put up with inappropriately hair legs.
For various reasons I can’t shave/wax/epilate or other wise rid myself of the hair.

I am happy that we are having a cool burst in Adelaide, the stockings are out and the feel on the legs is such a thrill. Tights snd boots later, Mmmmm roll on winter

I also always love to wear stockings as i dont feel dressed without them

Who said Stockings ever fell out of fashion? I never follow fashion trends because 99% its the image makers out there trying to make you feel bad about yourself and whats more they have a product to push, IE your not human unless you have Blackberry aqnd the lastest jeans you have to use a crow bar to get into! Tomy Rott! I say and Bah Humbug, You often find if your at home with what you have then screw the rest of the fashion because they have to keep up with you, not the other way round.

I agree with the celebration. Stockings are a vital part of my wardrobe – in fact I eagerly look forward to the cooler months when I have the freedom to shave my legs and have the whole look and sensation

I agree with you, although your post was 12 months ago, here we are approaching winter 2011. Stockings, Hose, even tights will be normal wear for me. Even on the coldest day hose will keep my shaved legs warm to a degree, when I take them off I sure notice a difference!
From spending a life time in the Trades my legs are knocked about, I used to always be on my knees when I was in Refrigeration, and now even after 20 years the skin on my knees is still quite rough. I just adore how stockings / hose smooths them out and I unconsciously caress my knees when sitting down. My pins are also battle scarred from various burns and scalds, scars from injuries so many from long ago, when I get into an expensive pair of pantyhose the feeling of sheer luxury is hard to beat.Jannine. xx
It is sad fact for us that when the Vic. summer arrives we mostly have to grow leg hair back !!!!!!

Hi all!
Stockings, pantyhose and tights in winter especially in Canberra, an essential piece of clothing. I like black and better quality primarily because they cover all those unsightly blemishes accumulated over the years of life. No, I couldn’t do without them, and no, I don’t follow fashion, I’m too old for that rubbish. Having said that I love the newer fashion tights.

I love wearing tights, pantihose and stockings. Winter is sheer joy as you need to wear them here in Adelaide especially at night. Plus they help hide all kinds of sins.
