nice to see the extent of the sympathetic treatment and support from such a mainstream news channel like cnn. see this story on cbs, nbc, or any of the australian networks? nooooo sirree! and this is a much more educating piece than the so called sympathetic treatment of transgender people in family guy:

i think the vomit scene lasts 27 seconds. a little over the top and humourless, i think, but that’s my humble opinion. i guess you could say that at least there are parts of the programme that express the challenges that trans people go through in a positive light, but on balance, i think the humour is a little subtle for your average viewer and the overall effect is to merely reinforce any negative stereotyping that people may already have. family guy just didn’t have the balls to fight transphobia (sigh).

I am currently about 200 miles from Trinidad in Colorado in a small town called Meeker. I wish I saw this posting when I travelled a few miles away back in December on my trip around America. Nevermind I might try to go if I ever come back

I watched the CNN interview, which was really good.

It appears that the website has been hacked. When I clicked on the link to trinidadthemovie.com, the page briefly loads, but then I’m redirected to
    http://www1.trytocleanit-36p.co.cc
which displays a message about having found malware, and then proceeds to display a list of “viruses” that it has found on your PC with a “remove all” option.

This is a well known scam! Clicking on this actually installs malware on your PC, which the company then charges you to remove. If you don’t pay, the malware gradually becomes more and more invasive, until eventually it displays a message as soon as you log onto your PC with a message that you have to buy their software. I have had to remove this from a friend’s laptop.

    Please be careful …
