Transgender Documentary
Posted by Rachael_5 on 17/12/2010 at 4:29 amHi girls, I hope I have this in the right section a friend of mine in Vermont sent me these links, her partner is the subject of one of the stories.
Some of you may have already seen them but Anyway we need more of this accepting type publicity.
I believe it is far to late for myself to consider but then every one to their own, I hope you find them interesting. The coment about how many SRS operations the DR performs is interesting.

Guest20/12/2010 at 3:40 amHi Rachael,
Thanks for posting that. I’m very impressed with the objective and balanced reporting in the news report, including niceties such as the correct use of female pronouns. All very matter-of-fact (the way that all news SHOULD be). I can see why GLAAD nominated Channel 3 for an award. Also good to see that they cover FtM as well as MtF.
Also, very interesting to note that Christa is able to have have her birth certificate reissued before having SRS. Yet another example of how progressive Canada is compared to Australia.
Cheers,
Julie

Hi since posting the links to the story,I have been in contact with Christa.
Christa undergoes SRS surgery in May 2011. This was the earliest possible appointment available due to facility availability. Christa is having ongoing minor surgury prior.
One should be aware of ALL the circumstances before being critical, I know the reasons why the deap voice but they are Crista’s personnel
information and I respect her wishes.
Most of us have financial reponsibilities and the cost of SRS is quite substancial.
