1st Sydney Transgender International Film Festival 2012
Sydney will host its first transgender international film festival on September 22-23, 2012.
a screen culture initiative to create a platform for the Australian transgender filmmakers showcasing their short and feature length films alongside of finalists from around the world! STIFF also presents works that have transsexual content by non-trans filmmakers from Australia and beyond.
STIFF aims to attract mainstream audiences to appreciate and recognize Transgender identity and issues through the medium of moving images. As well as undertaking exchange and curatorial programs to establish a network of individuals, groups and events with similar objectives locally and globally.Submissions
Online submissions open February 1, 2012. DVD Screener (All region), Director’s Biography and Photograph, Short Synopsis and publicity material must be sent to; STIFF PO BOX 861 Auburn W Sydney NSW 1835 Australia before June 30, 2012.General information
1. All works must have registered on-line entry form.
2. Short films must be 20 minutes in length or less.
3. Feature films must be 50 minutes in length or over.
4. All genres are acceptable.
5. All works must be in English or have English subtitles.
6. All works must be by Transgender filmmakers or have T content.
7. Screener (preview) format must be DVD (All region or PAL).
8. Screening format must be DVD (PAL – without starting menu).
9. There are no restrictions on date of production or length.

I think you have emerged as the Transmedia expert in TgR
I really enjoyed your recommendation of that DVD Transexual Summer but have only watched disc #1 so far.
One of the best if not the best Ive seen in that it portrays so many deeply personal issues confronting those in both the M2F and F2M communities and the families of those concerned .
Very revealing in terms of the surgery implications esp F2M.More than anything i loved the way Donna won the hearts of people in the local pub and obviously changed attitudes .
