Artificial Nails
Posted by Anonymous on 22/05/2012 at 2:08 pmHi girls,
My nails get bitten and broken / torn at work and grow very slowly. I am not ready for acrylic or gel nails at this time as too many people do not know about by feminine side.
Can anyone recommend a place to buy glue on nails that will fit the male fingers. I only want to wear them for a few hours at a time.
Also, I would prefer to buy in store, not on the internet.
Thanks and regards,

Guest07/06/2012 at 2:17 pmHi girls,
I was in Big W this evening looking for eye shadow and stumbled across a few different brands of false nails. I hope to try them out on the weekend. They are by no means perfect, but they are big enough to cover my large nail beds. The store have both the Kiss brand as well as another brand I can not recall.

SammyHi Sammy.
All of the Woolys stores carry a range of Glue on nails most will fit the larger nail beds.. just give the nails a good clean and light buff with a fine nail file before application.. they seem to stay better, when removing them allow the acetone to soften the nails for removal,
otherwise you will damage your natural nails badly..good luck have fun and they do look good when done properly, just take your time applying them for a better result..Pat XX

Guest16/06/2012 at 4:14 amlol Pardon my pun.
Hi can I share my nail experience with you.
I also just want temporary nails, for a few reasons.
A few things I have learned. Its better to buy two packets at a time with the cheaper ones, as sometimes its hard to find enough of the right size for two hands in one pack.
I am a girl on a budget and find the cheapie ones are fine (sometimes only 2.50 a pack) I always paint them anyway.
I always do my thumbs last, as we seem to need them the most ?
Very important, do your make up and get dressed before your nails. LOL I learned that one the hard way.I put my foundation on by hand. Even doing up a bra is hard with nails on. They are fun to do though and Im starting to get a good colour collection.

Guest17/06/2012 at 11:30 amThe nails i use with some success are the Nailene brand and before that the Kiss brand The Kiss brand has become unavailable of recent times. i buy them from Target and other Coles connected stores and they come in a box not unlike a fishing tackle box and have 100 nails per box and have all the larger nail sizes to suit Tgirl fingers. They come complete with a file and the nail glue. I do not follow the recommended use as i have my own way of using them.
The way i do nails it is this way Select out the ten nails to fit your fingers. Then use the file to remove the plastic dags and shape the square end of the nail to fit the cuticle end of the nail to your finger and leave the curved end. So you end up with ten nails that now fit your fingers. Then use double sided tape or normal packing tape folded to give a sticky side out and attach to the lid of the box the nails came in. Then you stick all the nails to the lid of the box. Then you paint the nails. Because the nails are not on your fingers you can get a perfect even paint job and over paint just ends up on the tape . The nails can be left for hours or days to be nice and hard dried nail enamel ready for your next outing. Because you have the nails ready with dried nail polish and nail glue dries quicker than nail polish you can apply your nails as the last thing after you are fully dressed. It is a matter of applying a minimum dot of glue to your natural nail and holding the plastic nail till the glue holds. Be careful to not use to much glue as any excessive will be squeeze out and may result in stuck fingers or messed up nail polish. After you do it a few times you can judge the amount of glue to keep the nail on all night and not to little that you may lose a nail or to much and make a mess.
Removal The nails can be removed with gently prying and if not damaged on removal can be reused on the next occasion and can be warn a few times until you have too much glue buildup. If in a rush you can remove but ruin the nail by dipping finger in Acetone and Acetone/nail polish remover takes of the glue from your natural nail. When re wearing you can run out of nail glue but have found normal Super glue works and is the same as nail glue and is cheaper and no harder to get off.
Other tip is to carry glue in your handbag so if a nail comes off you can glue it back on and if you do loose a nail totally have the nail polish with you to paint the natural nail to fill the gap of a missing nail.

Hi girls,
What I use are the Glam Nails by Manicare. There are two varieties, glue on or self-stick. The self-stick nails come with adhesive pre-applied & all you have to do is select the appropriate size nail & position as close to the cuticle as possible & then press down firmly until the adhesive bonds.
I have used the natural French ones a few times & they add the perfect feminine touch.
The cost is approximately $15.00 per packet of 24 nails & I bought them from Target.Dana
