  • unfairness

I was on Facebook today and came across an article of two people a man and a woman rocking on stage in their custom tights and saw they were getting great comments which got me to thinking. Why is it ok for a male rocker to wear tights and not be labelled just be told they look great and if one male who just wants to wear them because they like to gets called a fag. Just hurts that not everyone can be treated as equals Not sure how we al feel I just found it a bit unfair I sort of thought so if we were al musically talented we could get out there and be free too.

    Hi Abbie_1

Yes that is a strange one, i guess it always comes back to what we consider the normal

Men in tights , i guess just rock start and maybe robin hood and the guys ( i just remembered that funny mel brooks movie )

Sort of the same with a few other things

    a) Wen with long wigs – barrister and judge only
    b) leather jackets – fonzy or bikies
    c) white suits – john travolta and maybe disco stu

Its more to do with the item and the senario or what the user is doing, whether it is typical of the role

So yes, acceptable in some circumstances but totaly wrong in others

    regards
    Gina

Gina, leather jackets are more than just the short black bikies style
Dark, long leather duster type jackets, The Matrix.
Short tan leather, WWII aviator fanatic.

I have no problem wearing tights. I love them. Wish I could wear them all the time. ( Most times I do. )
But it is unfair that we are frowned upon by society, just because we fail to fit in with the ” Norm “. Can anyone define ” The Norm “?
We are all created in Gods image. Male, female and all the variations in between. So who should be able to criticize anyone who dosent fit in? Is it because they are perfect? Who is perfect? I certainly am not. Wish I was.
This has been a question that has remained unaswered for a long time, and will probably remain so for a lot longer.
Anyway, I am happy being me, and belonging to my circle of friends.
It is unfair, but as long as we can be happy and content with who we are,
then maybe we should continue to be ourselves.
    Hugs to all of you.
    Connie.

    Hj All ,
Yes I just love wearing tights ! Have so all my life ! What i find these days is far more acceptance of men wearing tights .In fact there is a fashion trend of wearing tights under short shorts thats quite acceptable I wear a pair of matte black tights under shorts with no problems ,In fact near the city and inner city many young men wear this get up – no problems !
If you go to beach suburbs you will see many surfers wearing skin tight Chinos which I gather are just skinny jeans .In fact its “uncool ” not to wear them ! like wise for tights under shorts

Med thinks its only a short time before men in the city start wearing tights only as a fashion …
Of course, if wearing tights you cant get aroused by anyone – certainly shows !

Hi all im no international rockstar but I have fronted my share of rock bands as vocalist ,and yes I did and do get away with a lot, and have used this my entire adult life as my “cover”. I could get away with so much, hair, makeup clothes ,jewelery ,ect ect and nobody would bat an eyelid even if they did I was like so what im in a band, and all was forgiven. I could have worn a dress and heels on stage and people would think hey how cool, man that guy is out there. So yes it’s strange take away that cover and I am subject to all the usual standards and bs that society throws at us ,and I really can’t understand it. Sad part is music was a big part of my life, one of the few things I was really good at something in transition I now have to leave in my past.
