  • How old are you?

Posted by Adrian on 12/03/2015 at 9:45 am

Walking back into the yacht club after the race on Wednesday I was overtaken by the crew of another yacht. They were identically dressed, oozing testosterone, and deep in conversation. Above the ‘boy chat’ a voice broke out:

    Quote:
As my Dad used to say: “You are only as old as the woman you feel”

    which was followed by laughter.

It brought a smile to my face too!

Funny how those of us who find ways to embrace their feminine side seem to loose years rather than gain them! We are indeed only as old as the woman we feel we are!

Oh – and by the way – the guy’s dad didn’t make it up – it is actually a quote from Groucho Marx.
The same Groucho who came up with:

    Quote:
Anyone who says he can see through women is missing a lot.
    Quote:
Women should be obscene and not heard.
    Quote:
Man does not control his own fate. The women in his life do that for him.
    Quote:
Marriage is the chief cause of divorce

    A great mind indeed!

I will try to remember those quotes Adrian. They are priceless really.

My wife says I look twenty years younger when I am dressed as a female. I feel twenty years younger too. I guess it’s a state of mind but a very pleasant one for which I am grateful. 😆

I have to second all that Martina and Adrian have said, but only to the extent that I only look twenty years younger after a professional makeover.I certainly feel a lot younger inside and move like it too.

When I do my own make up one of my on line friends, (ex TGR member), says I look like a “busty matron”.

I THINK I should take that as a compliment….and maybe the manufacturers of my breast forms and bra should too!!(The latter?? Fayreform Coral. Lovely lacy comfy bras…)

All the best to everyone on TGR

Looking a little matronly? I feel more like Miss Marple minus the knitting. Lets’ see just what a professional make up artist can achieve come Transformal.

Even a teeny weeny hint of foundation can and does eradicate the ruddy glow of alcohol and the ravages of many, many years of treading grapes in the great outdoors.
Make up is an enhancer, a mask to hide the years of living dangerously; less is better so I’ve heard.

I am now turned 80 ( An octogenarian) when I’m able to get all dolled up as Wendy I look quite a bit younger. My big complaint is that I have “Marionette lines” from my nose to my mouth which I find hard to disguise. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to dress up for a long time now as I’m caring for my wife who is now an invalid. :(

Wendy I can totally relate. I am in a similar position to you. Just turned 70 but feel much younger when dressed up. Since retiring fay is unable to have fun business trips anymore. We could be soulmates if you weren’t so far away.

    Hi ladies,

Ah yes the business trips….. Those of us who were fortunate enough to a/. have these as part of our employment and b/. be financial enough to have at least “1.5” wardrobes and c/. are now retired, can only look back with fond memories of being “knights????” of the road”.All that extra luggage, plus “I dont care” shopping expeditions (at least not about what the shop assistant thought), more what were the financial limitations on what we could afford for our “other selves”

As mentioned earlier and above I dont look anywhere near my age when professionally made up and I’m not that far behind Fay in age..

A conundrum that has frequently occured to me in terms of ageing and crossdresssing is thus.

When we are “young and pretty” (at least in my case), we are too scared or broke, (Mortgages, school fees, household bills etc etc), maybe even both, to indulge in our hobby to the extent where nice clothes and make up would have us “looking thr part”

Come retirement and “mature age”, we may now have the above inhibitions behind us, but dont look anywhere near as nice had we the opportunity to do so in earlier days.
