Epila laser hair remover (the one and only thread please)
Hi Girls,
I am considering buying a Epila laser hair remover over the internet for $269. Has anybody tried one of these units and, if so, what sort of success/failure has it been.

I have used it with excellent results. You have to be aware though that it took me some time to get results but it did work. It just takes patience. Basically it took me 3 maybe 4 sessions each at 2 week intervals before I saw noticeable results however now i have completed my bikini line with it and only the odd stray hair has grown back and that was 6 months ago. I would only do small areas with the epila because it does not work as fast as salon lasers but for all the money you save I think this is really worth it. Even if you do what i did and had some salon treatments on my legs, still some strays hair do grow back from salon treatment so i zap them with the epila now.

Hi im also looking at buying one of these i have heaps of time free to use it so i can try to get the result. Does any one know if this would be good for facial hair i want to try and remove my beard area, i can’t afford to go to the salon to get it done cause im out of work at the moment but it needs to be done i looked on ebay at these it sells around 200 so it would be good.
If anyone has any ideas please let me know as im going to go full time soon and the beard has to gothanks girls xxxxxxxxxxx

Just something to add to this thread…
There is also a treatment called Epilar it’s a protein based follicle destroyer. You have it applied directly after waxing, and it is similar to laser in that it can take 5-8 treatments to be fully effective.
I have not tried it, nor do I know anyone that has.

Thanks for the tip .I will try it asap I think these creams followed by Shaving are the way to go for any one going out on the town as you can hide yopur beard line so well and the skin is SO smooth after this treatment .Only problem I see is the razor clogs up so quickly with hair that using a disposable one gets a bit annoying .I now use one with a replaceble blade
Gillette Fusion will give you 1 or 2 shaves only – close ones but …

Gillette Fusion will give you 1 or 2 shaves only – close ones but …Just so that you are aware, Epilar follows waxing, not shaving, you have to get the protein cream in to the follicle for it to work.
TIP: If you want to keep your razors sharp, get a saucer of olive oil, and put the blade in it as soon as you have finished shaving, don’t remove it until you’re ready to use the blade again. The olive oil will displace air and water from the cutting edge, which is what causes the real quick loss of edge.

I read the web info – seems to sound good , Can you use it after electrolysis ?
Thanks for the tip on razor blades !I find the problem with disposables is that the blade gets so clogged with 1/2 dissolved hair that they are useless after a while.Do you have a way to clean these effectively ?

You asked the question Suzzane about using Epilar after electrolysis. My question would be “why?” Electrolysis kills hair anyhow and destroys the follicle of that particular hair in the process so you wouldn’t need the Epilar cream in that area at all.
Or maybe you’ve got electrolysis mixed up with something else?

Why would you want to? Electrolysis kills the follicle and is greater than 80% effective on every follicle. You’d use it after waxing, which is what the instructions on use suggest. You could use it after plucking, but I suspect that’s really only for individual problem hairs.

SuzzNo idea, except with normal shaving of one’s legs, I find that tapping the blade on the tiles whilst running fresh water over it works wonders (think shower.)
