Starting a new thread? Give it a subject please!
I’ve been having a mini-campaign recently against all those forum topics with uninformative subjects like
“A Question”, “Hi Girls”, “Research” or just “Help”It is very time consuming – but I have been editing threads so that their subject actually identifies something about the content.
With nearly 7000 postings in the archive now we have to ensure things can be found again – otherwise there is a lot of good information that will be essentially lost.
If you start a new thread the subject you choose is important.
Take a look at any of the forums (and the recent posting list) and all you see is the posting subject. If the subject is meaningless then you have to open up the post just to find out what is in it – and most of us can do without that sort of spam in our busy lives. So if you start a new thread and are the first person to post then you have a responsibility – and that is to give us a subject!
If your post asks a question – put the question as well in the subject
(for example like this http://forum.tgr.net.au/cms/forum/F309/2327-327 )If you are making a suggestion – put that in the subject as well.
And if you are making a recommendation – put the name of the shop etc in the subject.
And if you don’t?????
Well be prepared to be asked to repost it again! I haven’t the time to do the thinking and editing for everyone!Cheers
Amanda
