sex change
Posted by Anonymous on 04/04/2009 at 3:05 pmcurious… I’m androgynous, so neither male nor female, but both.
I was born male but absolutely HATE having a penis & balls, I am wondering if it is possible to have a sex change without breast augmentation, and continue to live as a male, dress like a male etc… but not have the unwanted appendage.
I’m sure most of the TS women on here would find this appalling or strange, but please remember… I am not one, nor the other…
Now I know some would ask, “so why the big deal about having a penis” but I ask you as M2F what would you want, just because I am not wanting to become a female fully, does not mean that I want to be a male either.. I am caught in the middle and I want both…..well…to be male but complete the part of me that is female…and I feel trappedAdrian replied 15 years ago 2 Members · 14 Replies -

It would be difficult to find one who doesn’t. Also, telling doctors that you don’t exactly think of yourself as a woman makes it much harder to persuade them to help you.
I have heard of a few FtMs getting their breasts cut off without getting hormones first, so I guess it’s probably not completely impossible…

Guest05/04/2009 at 1:02 pmHi Nikita, There is nothing at all strange or appalling about your desires. There is plenty of history with transgendered people being neither or both genders. The main difficulty is getting someone to operate on you without a commitment to living as female as it is a requirement under the standards of care most surgeons use. You might like to look up Norrie May Welby as well lbefore you make any final decision. Norrie has had some regrets and identifies as someone between.
Take care

Guest05/04/2009 at 4:34 pmwhat is strange about you wanting that one persons idea of strange is not strrange to others. If that is what you feel you need to be happy be your true self well seek help you may find it harder to get it but hey years ago when the transexual girls who have gone before expressed there desires needs to be true self they had more hurdles to cross than those who have followed so i don t judge i wish you well seek help you may just get it:))

Guest10/05/2009 at 5:24 amOf course you can live as a guy without a penis and testicles……. you can go and have GRS or SRS overseas if you want, nobody is going to stop you from taking this action, but they will ask why you did this and you have to be able to live with your actions as there is no going back. Its bit the same as those of us on hormones, you will get sterile so you must be prepared for this to happen to you!
It is not strange to want this and i would never see you as anything other than a person realising their ‘person potential’ Best of luck with this endeavour okay and keep us informed as much as you can, okay -

Guest11/05/2009 at 10:56 amI think you have to be secure in yourself and not comfortable. Security in believing who you are and how/what makes you feel the real self that you want to be. I doubt that anyone can guide you in your decision but if you are sickened by what you were born with then its time to have it removed. As for breast augmentation, well maybe not now but it may come later on in life.. Remember life is a list of choices that we all make either under duress or at ease. In the long run the choices can only be made with the information we have and mostly with our basic insticts.

My needs are to change my body so I look female except for my beard I have found someone who has put me on hormones (yey) so while it may be hard to find someone willing to do the op it most probably will take time and heart ache to find someone. good luck
if what you hate about your bits is what “normal” TS people dislike about their ‘down there bits’ then you might strike lucky in finding someone that understands I’ve been on other forums where people (wish to)/have transitioned in not normal ways i’ve found the forum at http://www.whatisgender.net/phpBB3/ to be understanding and helpful[/url]

Guest01/08/2009 at 3:35 amQuote:curious… I’m androgynous, so neither male nor female, but both.I don’t know if that’s the correct term. Androgynous is usually used to describe looks, not necessarily gender. Of course the definition of androgynous includes “having an ambiguous sexual identity”, I’d be sure to ensure that your doctor knows your definition.

I am sure you will need multiple psychiatric reports before you’d get approval.

Talk to your doctor, they should refer you to a psychiatrist, but be aware even an Orchidectamy (removal of the testes) will require some form of HRT post-op. I have approval for such surgery, but being transgendered it was very much simpler for me. I suspect you’ll have a lot more trouble than me in getting approval. The question is do you want full SRS or just removal of your male sex organs? (I don’t want the answer, but the doctor, surgeon and psychiatrist will).
Being “part female” and “feel(ing) trapped” is the usual definition of someone who is transgendered as “Primary Presentation”. Breast augmentation is optional, but breast development will occur if you go onto HRT with estrogen.

Guest21/04/2010 at 2:20 amTrying not to be too tangential, does anyone have any experience of, or know of anyone who has had an orchidectomy (I.E. removal of the Jatz Crackers) ? I’ve been trying to get some info on line but can only find some Q&A sites with comments from people who claim to have had it done with greater or lesser degree of perceived success. It’s certainly one way to lower the testosterone levels.

Guest21/04/2010 at 10:35 pmHi Felicity
Without understanding exactly why you would want to do that, as our bodies need one of the two hormones in our system for us to live a normal life. A freind of mine almost died as his body stopped making testosterone and he is now on injections for the rest of his life.
How hormones work in our body is that the pituitary gland will monitor the amount of hormone in our system. The pituitary gland can not tell the differance between testosterone or oestrogen. When the level of hormone drops the pituitary gland will send chemical neurotransmitters into the blood stream so that the part of the body that produces hormones will start producing.
So basicly your body will stop producting testosterone once your oestrogen levels are high enough. The doctor can monitor your progress with blood tests and can look at three main indicators being the neurotransmitters sent by the pituitary gland showing if your body is happy with that level of oestrogen, the oestrogen its self making sure that the levels are not getting too high and testosterone to make sure it is on its way down.
Antiandrogens can be used while your body is sorting it self out to block the effects of testosterone , but will not stop testosterone from being produced. Once your testosterone levels have dropped below 1% then the main reason for Antiandrogens is pointless unless the doctor wants some other side effect to remain.
Once oestrogen is in your system and the testosterone is low enough then the oestrogen will start adding the female parts to the body and attacking the male parts. Over a long period of time (1-2 years) your nuts and penis will begin to skrink and you may become infertile and your ability to produce testosterone will also reduce. This time frame may change from person to person.
For a small window most of these effects can be reversed to a degree, with it becomming harder over time. So most doctors perfer this approch, as surgery can not be reversed at all.
When you have SRS/GRS all the skin from down there including the ball sack can be used, so removal of them may endanger the amount of skin left, this would need to be checked out.
So in all I kinda see the removal of them before SRS/GRS to drop the testosterone levels is pointless unless you have some special medical reason why.
Hope this helps

An online chat friend had this in WA. For her she told me with medicare her out of pocket expenses were $45 (this was prob in 2007/2008). Each state regulates their health services differently at the moment so best to check your state. If you are intending to have SRS at a later stage it would be a good idea to contact the surgeon you are intending to have SRS with and ask them for a letter to your Orchiectomy surgeon, advising them what needs to be retained. (Basically normally the scrotal skin-but this depends on the SRS technique used by the surgeon of course.).
My friend did this and she later had SRS with no issues at all. -

Guest22/04/2010 at 12:23 amWhat an interesting subject. I too have a loathing of my male parts. I feel more female than male though I live as a male. It’s the tucking procedure that is so uncomfortable and unfemale. I am sure there are many TG girls out there living as males in everyday life but doing the girl thing at opportunity. It’s that groin bulge when tucked that annoys me most. I have been tucking since I was about 16.
I enjoy reading your life stories.
So many of you have such impressive reputations in TR that I feel I can confide in all of you.

Guest23/04/2010 at 3:00 pmHi Felicity,
If you don’t want full srs and don’t want or can’t tolerate the effect of androcur or spiro or equivalent then an orchidectemy is ok. If you EVER might consider srs then my advice is don’t have that procedure. It will most likely severlely impact the sucessful oucome of a full srs operation due to the scarring and reduction oif available ’tissue’.
