Does anyone have any experience with the ‘newish’ HPL Laset from the Shaver shop?

It is a Laser pulse system that says that with two to six treatments you will be hair free.

But seeing as it costs $1000 I sort of would like to know if it has any potential before purchasing one.

It has a good zap and has all the same warnings of Melatin and dark hair warnings as the real ones.
Any help appreciated before I waste my time and money.

Do some searching online. The unit is USD$499 on Amazon and here are some reviews:

The “real ones” cost $20,000. If the clinics thought they could get away with using a $1,000 laser, I’m sure they would.

    Hi Girls,

My mother recently talked me into getting the Ipulse which I assume is the same or similar thing. I was tossing up between laser and electrolysis, after reading the threads I thought I would go for the laser option and then treat the remaining ones with electrolysis. But she talked me into the TVSN offer and I purchased the Ipulse, I tick all the right boxes in terms of skin type and dark hair colour. I have only just started the treatment and I hope I see results in the future I will keep posted in the future and let you all know how I progress.

The light pulse head has a set lifetime of usage, so I decided to treat only the face and chest. After 8 treatments I can notice a difference with the chest and I am happy with how that is going, seems to be less dark hairs growing and only patchy where they are.

I am not as happy with progress on the face, I can’t say if any have stopped growing (lots to start with) the only thing I have noticed is my complextion seems lighter after shaving and maybe not growing as fast.

Thanks for the update Jamilla. Your last post was about 6 weeks ago, so you may not see too much change yet. I’ve heard that it can take many months to get a result. Hopefully the resuction in facial hair will continue to improve over time.

It’s been a while since my last update, but a have regularly used the the ipulse in all that time. I did however take a break away from it for a couple of weeks when we had the really hot weather.

I still have some hair on my chest but it is easy to manage, I have knocked off using the ipulse here so I can solely concentrate on the beard. Where to start? Well I guess the negatives first it doesn’t perform like it claims too, I’m well past the advised treatment period. It can sting when your using it which can be a turn off, I have noticed that the head only has fan cooling and if you go too quickly it heats up with more stinging. The gel which you apply first runs out quick, you get one tube with it, I’ve been through three so far. The limited result with the ongoing treatment can be a test of your patients especially on top of all the other hair removal.

As for results, well like I said before the beard does seem a little weaker in general but also I do have some dead patchs around my lips with 2 larger patchs under them either side of my chin with 2 more patchs under my chin. I get the impression I’m getting better results from the edges of the beard my guess is that maybe with limited power it can have a better effect.

It’s really nice where the beard is dead and it does give me resolve to keep on it, but I will be limiting it to the the face only until I’m happy with the results, My mother said on the TVSN blurb that a lady phoned in and said she did get results but after 9 months. The other thing is it’s very easy to use at home there have been some days when I was planing on doing it but been busy or off colour, I simply did it the next day.

    Hi Girls,

I have been meaning to make this post for some time now but have been a bit slack and pre-occupied with doctors etc.

To put it shortly I have stopped using the Ipulse and have given up on it, I put in a lot of effort and even though I have weakened the beard, my chest hair started coming back as if I hadn’t even done it in the first place. I could have kept trying but compared to the professional service/equipment I think the cost benifit is not there.

So I will be off to see a local IPL clinic as soon as I get settled into HRT.

    Jamilla.
