    Afternoon all,

Whilst I fully realise why and support Amanda’s policy on TGR not being a medical forum, with her indulgence I would like to pose this question to my TGR “sisters”, (“fellow” does not seem to cut it).

Since my teens I have had bad flat feet and have had to wear orthotics in my shoes. Otherwise my feet get sore very quickly..

YET!!! During my Caty time I can comfortably walk around in 3″ heels for hours at a time and my feet do not hurt..

    How “funny peculiar!!!”

Anybody out there experience the same thing, or any “amateur podatrists” out there who can shed any light on this matter

    Regards,

    Caty

This is too easy, Caty. Put simply it is because, when we are dressed, we float.

If you want the more complex answer, I would guess, that, in heels, our weight is more supported by our toes and the balls of our feet, and also, at times, on our heels, depending on how the individual gurl moves in her heels. Those of us with a good arch, would normally be supported by those three areas. Perhaps this is why your feet don’t hurt.
    Just guessing,
    hugs Cali

I have exactly the same situation Caty, have been wearing orthotics for over 20 years in “every day” shoes but have never needed them in womens flats or heels. No discomfort after hours in well fitted heels. I do wonder if I were fortunate enough to be wearing them day in day out whether there then may be doscomfort.

I don’t have an answer to your question other than to say perhaps “we ARE walking on air when we do have the opportunity.

I have to agree with you two lovely ladies, at times when I’m Caty I do feel as if I’m walking on air and as Jenny said in another post of mine, it just
    “feels right”
