I can’t decide which I like best. Winter with all the covering clothes “no shaving legs or spray tans” and you’re makeup stays on all day or. Summer and lovely light and bright colours with the chance to show a “bit of leg and other bits”. I suppose we need both but I’m over the cold

Yep, I have to agree that both have their pros and cons and not having to work so hard on bare skin presentation does make life a bit easier. But then, there is nothing like a nice summer outfit, straps with bared shoulders and skirts sweeping across newly shaved legs. (I tried waxing no thanks).
But having arms denuded of hair does attract attention from those who know you well. So winter, with its long sleeves and leggings has a benefit, then again I too am over the cold.

I love winter but that is probably as I live in Brisbane where winter lasts for only a few weeks while Summer is many months! Tights, boots, warm tops and jumpers, coats, scarves and even gloves are so comfy! Also the makeup stays on much easier.

Here here. Winter. Boots are in. Leggings. Skirts. And long sleeve tops. Then. Scarves/pashminas. Are just great. Jackets and coats. Fabulous. And the bonus. Yes makeup. Stays nice longer. So. Melbourne. Is good for me Summer. Well having less hair keeps the body much cooler. I love all the seasons. It causes a change in wardrobe. Quite often

The comments re heat and keeping cool brings tp mind summer evenings in Melbourne many years ago when the heat waves lasted for weeks. Going to group meetings was often an interesting sight as the make-up tended to slide south. Add a wig and padding and ne tended to feel quite warm. A friend informed of a tip she picked up. Using a roll anti=perspirant on the forehead and temples, above the lips etc.
As for Queensland’s summers, they seem to be very interesting at the moment, all that snow looks quite out of place.

That’s it Fiona’s nailed it we need both it’s nice to have a chance to change our wardrobe. But I think I like summer best strappy sandles with pretty painted toe nails and as Clair said short skirts with cool tops I don’t mind waxing it lasts longer and comes back finer and that’s a good tip I will have to try about the roll on thanks. But for the moment it’s still skinny leg jeans boots with heels and roll neck jumpers and scarvs

I’ll just go with what TGR member Phillipa Of Phillipa’s Curves once told me

“Cross dressing is a winter sport” and living in Perth, she outa know what summer heat feels like.

I envy those who can and do get rid of all the body hair, but for me “er indoors”would not approve.

So I do what I can when in can in the warmer months

Winter allows more clothing to be worn and a recent hoard of fine woollen red jumpers has seen good service so far in this winter’s cold. In summer though , I agree that it is more challenging but this is where my more Androgynous approach comes into it’s own. Jeans, blouses, shirts, camisoles and sandals are cooler and yet allow for an honest and open expression of my gender.

Thanks for the antiperspirant tip Claire, that might solve the biggest negative summer brings for me. But having got rid of my body hair, I love showing off my arms and legs. On the other hand I love my boots so I can handle both seasons.

I love my boots and tights in winter i have always loved slipping on some tights or pantyhose and a nice top …but my wardrobe does have a lot of nice light dresses for summer. ..will try that roll on tip as well sounds good but yes the chance to wear a variety of clothes is great. ..not to mention swimmers in summer

I’m surprised that you have more issues with armpits than legs. For me its certainly the other way. Winter means I can shave the legs and nobody has to have an issue with it. My armpits stay fairly trimmed and sometimes completely shaven just for more efficient body cooling :D. Have never had a problem with it.
