TgR Wall Forums Member’s Corner General Discussion A question of balance…..

    I’m not anti-TS. I’m not anti-transitioning. I’m not anti-GLB political discussion.

    It’s a question of balance.

I regard the two ‘flagship forums’ on trannyradio to be ‘serious discussion’ and ‘general discussion’. They are the forums that set the tone and they are the litmus test for the forum. At the moment most of the threads written fall assume that we are all full timers or desirous of becoming full timers. If this forum had 200 active members, 150 of which were part time TV/CDs, the current level of TS biased discussion wouldn’t matter a tinkers damn as there would be a myriad of threads on diverse subjects – but unfortunately that is not the case.

An earlier thread would have you believe that somehow any progress in trannydom has been due to the ‘fallen’ at Stonewall. But, for most of us, we owe our sanity or connections and our sense of belonging to this bigger community to people like Virginia Prince who founded FPE, to the founders of Beaumont and Seahorse. To the publishers of Forum magazine. And more recently to the founders of a number tranny forums and sites like Roses, Crossdressers, Trannyweb, URNotalone and this one.

So if you want restore the balance then you need to start posting threads on subjects that matter to you and that interest you – no matter how trivial or ordinary or inconsequential or unimportant they may seem to be against the current ‘intellectual’, experienced and political backdrop. And others have got to start supporting those authors with responses.

You need to get involved here.

FYI, the only reference that I can say I have knowledge of is Virginia Prince, and to quote Suzan Cooke, a once patient of Harry Benjamin, now a transgendered theorist:

    Quote:
(The term)Transgender was the invention of The Prince of many aliases currently known as Virginia. A sociopath homosexual transvestite liar and vicious hater of transsexuals who spent many years on Dr. Stollers’s couch poisoning thinking regarding people with transsexualism for generations.

… the rest I would have no knowledge about, seeing as how I was one of the very few lucky enough to stumble on my right identity from the start.

I was never a crossdresser/transvestite or even gay.

    Dear Fi,

Dont you feel better for voicing your opinion at the beginning of this thread, pity it has lead to a drop in the activity in the forums.

Light and fluffy is so blah, boring, and well, so yesterday.

You want it, you got it.

    Hi Fiona,

    You said:

I am new here and was wondering to what extent we can talk about things on a somewhat less serious note at times, although I fully understand there are “bigger” issues that need to be discussed. It is preferable for myself to post in the member sections only, rather than the public arena’s, but dont want to feel I am not in the right section (by the way been feeling I m in the wrong section most of my life lol)

It is also a kind of confidence thing to put something out there, and hope you dont sound foolish to others, a bit like a social setting in a group, if you dont know many, it is easier to stay quite.

Also myself included I think we can be a little sensitive, it may be an inherent quailty to many girls, after all its a rather female trait, and can be destructive, as much as it is positive, but needs to be in context with the fact that a main aim (personally speaking) to be here is to find support, not make enemies.

Ok I have put my bit in. Roll on the comments. :)

Maybe it’s not a question of balance it may be a question of access having the time or freedom to be involved in this community.I have been a member for many years trying to find my way trying to find myself. In the last few months I have made a decision to be more involved to start subjects to add to other people’s stories in doing this I am learning and being part of the community. And I have felt that community is strong and active, so I now actively search for forums with subjects that move me. subjects that challenge our society, I am known only as an Internet girl, I’ve only being out one’s late at night in the real world on my own I find it hard and scary.

Tranny Radio is a light on the hill that helps all girls in many ways with friendships with pen-pals, the forums are gems without them the heart of this society would be pulled out.

So if only a small amount of girls which to write so be it, that means a greater responsibility from us to help and understand!
