This went to air on Thurs 26th but is available on ABC Iview.
Ayla Holdom a Transgender ex RAF pilot , and friend of Cate Mc Gregor talks about her experiences coming out as trans in the military and her mistreatment by the English Media when they found out she served with Prince William in a Search and Rescue unit.
She has made a real effort to engage with media in the UK and reduce their tendency to trviliaise or mock transgender people..

Hi Caroline, Thanks for the heads up about Ayla on One plus One, I watched it this morning and found it really insightful about Ayla story and can personally relate to a lot of what she said about being trans in general and some of the stereotyping that occurs. Good for her, Rosemary

Definitely one of the best One plus Ones in quite a while. Thanks for the heads up Caroline. Apart from her self-awareness at age 4 (I took another 10 years to partially work it out) everything Ayla said rang bells with me. She spoke with such dignity too.
