I love wearing dresses and I am fed up with having to find ingenious ways to cover my arms.

It’s simple. I shave my hands and the insides of my arms and use a hair trimmer set on the shortest setting on the backs. The hair is so short it is basically unnoticeable yet I avoid all the itching and ingrown hairs from shaving. I do have light colored hair on my arms so if you have dark black hair this wouldn’t work. I know some people bleach their arm hair and with a trim that would solve your problem. Hairy arms and a dress really do look bad -)

I use a Braun Silk-epil, a mechanical epilator. It removes the hairs successively and you can stop when you have the desired result. My experience is that by time I stop later and later. My arms are nowdays almost hairless (as are legs).

Try some of the hair remover cream. At first, don’t leave it on too long – otherwise it may remove all the hair. I’ve tried this and it does a pretty good job of thinning the hair. You could also try bleaching the hair so it doesn’t show too much. One other thin I’ve done is run an electric razon about 1/2 above the skin

Waxing is the way to go. It sounds absurd but many of my female friends have it done and the results are awesome. Not only do they feel silky smooth but it looks much more ‘groomed’. If you don’t want to get a beautician to do it, just buy some pre made up strips from the supermarket and get a friend to do it for you. You will love it – I promise!

I have two epilarors — a Braus Silk Epil which uses a rotating twezer head and and and Epilady which uses a wire coil The Epilady is less efficient and tends to grab loose skin particularly on underarms but is generall less painful than the Braun. Underarms are still a right bitch at times so I sometimes use a depillatory 5 minutes before showering. The hair regrowth on my arms and legs is so fine as to be almost invisible.

I agree with the recommendation to use an epilator such as the Braun Silk-epil. I have 3 epilators of different types and use them as often as possible. Like waxing, the hair grows back thinner and slower over time. If you’ve never had the hair removed before, get it waxed professionally a few times first – that way, it won’t be as painful the first time you epilate. If you don’t manage to keep up with the epilation, you may want to wax again before getting back into epilation.

I used to shave my arm hair but I didn’t think that looked good. I’m
trimming the hair now but I still don’t think it looks right. I’m
referring to how it looks en femme. Any suggestions?

    Shaving works for me.

Or you could try Nair. But if left on your skin too long, it burns your skin

    Hey girls…

I will often use bleach cream to lighten the hair and then use a
beard trimmer to trim the hair down. This works well for me in
both “boy mode” and “girl mode.” With the hair being shortened and
blond hair, it much less noticable in girl mode. But by leaving some
hair, is less noticable in boy mode.

Bleach creams are simply chlorine-like powder and a cream that is
similar to cold cream. You mix the two together, spread the mixture
over your skin, wait about 10-20 minutes and then shower. The longer
that you leave the cream on the lighter the hair becomes and
    eventually it goes light blonde.

One simple trick that I learned was to skip using the little
cardboard “pallet” provided for mixing the cream and the powdered
bleach. Instead, I just dump the powder and the cream into a cup and
mix the two with a spoon.

Since bleach cream is marketed to GGs who typically have thinner
hair, you probably need to leave the cream on longer than the
instructions suggest. Like Nair, you should be careful about leaving
the bleach on too long since it can cause redness but unlike Nair, I
don’t think that it does any real harm to your skin – or at least I
have never had it harm my skin. Still, the redness can last for
several hours so don’t go overboard until you see how it reacts with
    your skin type.

I’ll bleach my chest hair blonde before shaving it. This way, any
missed razor stuble is less noticable. I’ve also used it to slightly
    lighten my eye brows.

You can pick up bleach cream at any pharmacy.

    Hugs,

    -Jamie

Have you tried bleaching. I trim it first so it is not too long and
then bleach. This looks OK in boy mode too (like I have been out in
the sun). In the winter I wax and really just love the smooth waxed
look. I think it is wonderful but can only do it when long sleeves
    are used in boy mode.

I tried waxing myself a few years ago. I found it to be the most
painful, awkward and time-consuming of all the methods I’ve tried.
It makes me shudder just to think of it.

I tried epilating. I love the results. But after a while I got fed
up because a lot of hairs seem to break instead of coming out all
the way. And it takes quite a long time. Perhaps I should get the
    book “The Lazy Crossdresser”.

I’ve thought about bleaching. I have dark hair and I don’t think it
would look right to have blonde arm hair. The sun doesn’t affect my
hair that way. I’m also afraid I’ll goof up in applying it and end
up with something really freakish. :)

Girls don’t worry about not having arm hair. I shave mine off, and no one seems
to care or even take notice. I have to admit that I have blonde hair so that
might make it a little bit easier.
If you worry it doesn’t look manly in “guy” mode, just take a look at a
body-building magazine sometime. usually not much hair on those guys. It just
makes for a cleaner look, and really looks good when you are en femme. But
please, don’t forget to shave (or what other methods you use) your knuckles and
the back of your hands. Hairy knucles, hands, wrists and arms look bad if you
    are trying to pass.
I hope my comments are helpful.
