Article on history of lingerie
Posted by Anonymous on 27/09/2016 at 7:37 amHi to all on TGR
Being the lingerie freak that I am, this article caught my, (sadly unmade up), eye!!!
http://paidcontent.dailylife.com.au/marks-and-spencer/lingerie/shorticle/exposing-history-lingerie/
Interesting reading…especially since it was my Mum’s girdle with suspenders that got me started on this part of my “journey of life”.
Hope someone else enjoys it too.

Thanks for the article Caty. It’s wonderful that we can appreciate the inherent beauty and sensuality in such garments and in a way that only we can. And not just to enviously gaze upon them but to be actually enveloped and encapsulated by them when the mood takes us. And especially so since retro underwear is available online to all these days.

Guest28/09/2016 at 4:40 amThanks Marian,
I did not mention it, but there is a link somewherein that story to a very, very long “dissertation” on transgenderism and cross dresssing.
Looks like it was written circa 50 or 60 years ago.
So if anyone has the time and inclination… Go for it.

Great article and thanks for sharing. I have to say that for sheer fashion status I do love a long line corset . The article does show how women have been empowered along a timeline of the last 90 to 100 years. Nice to know that women design underwear these days rather than men.

Guest31/10/2016 at 11:36 pmAh Bridgette,
Another long line corset lover…except in my case, my “LLC” is now my “ex”…..Too hard to do up by myself.and the bra cups were meant for “real” boobs, not breast forms. So I gave it away.
So I’ve gone back to either an underbust one or more lately a lovely Gossard convertable/ strapless bustier as the blue evening gown you will see me wearing in my profile is an off the shoulder style.
Cant even use the suspenders that came with it as my torso is too “male long”, so I wear a separate belt. But all ovely gorgeous stuff, especially when combined with some “upscale” bras and panties…(Bought at outlet stores/sales prices of course….)
Regards
Caty
