Attaching self-adhesive forms
Posted by Anonymous on 15/04/2012 at 7:38 amHi all,
One of my last remaining “CD mountains” I would like to climb is to purchase and use a set of self adhesive breast forms.
The purchase is easy. The hard part is the fact that I cant shave my chest hair before attaching the forms. “Questions would be asked in the house” etc etc.
So has anyone out there attached their forms without first shaving and did it cause the “pain and aggro” I’m concerned about???
Ta in advance

Guest16/04/2012 at 6:32 amHi Caty well first i use self adhesive breast forms the glue i use is medical adhesive to me it not that strong but when you take your breast off use a medical adhesive solvent . You may find the with your chest hair the glue may not work to well i shave my chest hair i think that your hair may lift the edge of the breast forms . sometime i don’t use glue at all the form stays in place .

Yes they can be carried in the bra alone, but they tend to move somewhat.
I picked up a set of gel cup inserts from B&T that work well, but they are not a breastform as such.
For sometime I have been removing the chest hair and they do work better, ensure that you have washed the areas well with soap and maybe a wipe over with a cotton wipe containing isopropyl alcohol, this will remove any remaining natural body oils..
BTW I found using the old fashioned Sunlight laundry soap blocks work very well as it’s slightly more Alkaline than most bath soaps, additionally I have also found it nuetralises a lot of perfumes as well !!Pat

Guest21/07/2012 at 10:30 amI have just bought some new forms, great shape, size and feel. But I’d like to get some medical adhesive to use so I don’t get them shifting. Where can I get it and also the remover.
Thanks

I bought some adhesive from here http://www.janetscloset.com
Hollister 7730 Medical adhesive US$27
Remover (Large bottle) US$25
It was only US$15 to get it shipped from the US and took about 2 weeks to get here.I have noticed that the breast form store have started stocking it
Hollister 7730 Medical adhesive $79
Remover (small spray bottle) $79
Shipping $14.95.
http://www.thebreastformstore.com.au/Dont know why the local store is charging 3X the prices of the US store for the same product. Something funky going on there. You will need a lot more of the remover.
The adhesive does work well but it is difficult to get the adhesive off your breast forms and your chest and its messy. After a few hours my skin becomes irritated, i suspect due to lack of contact with air. It also seems, in my case, to make my problem with ingrown hairs worse, under where the breast forms were attached. Its fine for a night out but this is not a long term solution.

Janet’s Closet isn’t BFS, so they’ve always had different prices to the US BFS parent site. Looking at the US parent site, the Canadian site, and the EU sites, nearly all branches of BFS have stopped listing Hollisters on the tapes and adhesives page. Australia is the last branch of BFS still listing Hollisters there, and hunting online just after TransFormal 2012, BFS was the only place I could find carrying the Hollisters adhesive remover.
BFS US and Canada have a special running on a set of Hollisters adhesive and remover for use with the new Aphrodite forms, $62 USD or CDN. BFS Australia is still persisting with selling the adhesive and remover separately for $80AUD each.
Why we have such a savage Australia Tax on everything, when the $AUD has been at better than parity to the $USD for over 12 months now, is something that frustrates a lot of people. The bra from Janet’s Closet looks very similar to the Transform #7100
$56 AUD – http://www.thebreastformstore.com.au/
$30 USD – http://www.thebreastformstore.com/ Note just how many colours the bra is acutally available in, compared to how few we get here.Pocketed bras are good, when you have an outfit that is suited to wearing a bra with straps.

Guest24/07/2012 at 10:27 amThanks for all the positive replies. I have moved the forms around in my bra and found I had their position wrong. I also looked at a couple of websites and am looking at getting double sided tapes to hold them. I m now wearing them and feeling very comfortable with my decision.

Guest26/07/2012 at 10:33 amHello Helen 2 and all on TGR,
YAY!!!! for the first time EVER today I was able to use double sided tapes to adhere my breast forms. Both the forms and tapes came from BFS up at Swansea NSW. Aside from a slight “alignment” problem it all went very well, so to those of you thinking about the tape method of attaching your forms, I can recommend same. There’s also a tuition video on the BFS site on how to attach the tapes to the forms and how to clean them up and make the tape “sticky” again, after you have taken them off
It’s such a “femme” feeling to have that weight on your chest and to put on a bra just like a “GG” does. Also, leaning over without the forms attached means they dont stay flat on your chest. So attaching them with the tape makes things much more realistic
I had previously tried the “It Stays” water based glue. But that did not work nearly as well.
The rest of these ramblings would best be in a blog, so I’ll just leave the tape recommendation as is.
Regards,
Caty

Guest27/07/2012 at 10:14 pmCaty,
Thanks, I have visited the BFS site and am about to order the double sided tape. I even watched the ‘how to do it’ video. So in about a week or so I should have the tape and as I have shaved chest all should be good.
Thanks
Helen
