I am 172 cm (5 ft 7 in) and when I was only living as a boy I thought I was too short. When I now present as a woman I am very happy to be this vertical height. I can wear heels or not – it is my horizontal height that is more concerning 😆

From a personal point of view I like a bit of length.

Some very elegant tall ladies at the TPA Mardi Gras meeting yesterday all of whom were stunning. Made me realise I’ve been worrying about nothing all along!

I’m 180 cm and happy with that , I feel it’s a good thing , helps for me as I’m carrying a bit more xmas cheer than I should be so helps that out a lot
But my shoulders are my problem, broad .
I cant help that , and hard to get dresses to fit up top and below

I’m hearing you Petra. My shoulders are fairly broad and arms long which makes dress fit challenging. ASOS ladies tall does offer good options though

Hi everyone, I know I have wanted to be shorter around 5-5, 5-6, but as we all know it’s not going to happen, I’m 5-11 so I just live with it.

Consider this, I think there are definitely more women in the 6 foot range these days, or am I now just noticing them after following this forum, a few examples in recent days in my local shopping centre.
The woman behind me in the queue at the supermarket today was my height, and I noticed a couple more when I had been wandering up and down the isles.
Yesterday in the nail salon the woman sitting next to me getting an acrylics nail set done was my height, and said to me she liked my nail colour.
A few days ago in K-Mart 3 women in front of me queuing at the check outs I’ll refer to as Nan, Mum & Daughter I would put their heights at 5-10, 6-1 & 6-3/4 respectively.
All these woman were in flat shoes or sandals. Maybe I’m living in an area where there is an above average ratio of tall women in the population, the bonus is it makes my height stand out less in the shopping centre and I can get away with a nice pair of low heels from time to time.

A gift of height, sometimes you just want to blend in with the crowds but cant because you think you stand out….its being comfortable with
what you are wearing and inside !
On the other hand being 6 ft usually means the hems on the dresses are a bit higher, which can be a good feeling or not ?

Next are fantastic for tall ladies and not as expensive as some of the others. Their jeans are especially good value and a beautiful fit

I measure in at around 5′ 11″ and I usually wear 3”-4.5″ heels. (I’m hanging in there for as long as I can!) so I know I stand out. Sure, if things were different I’d be happy to be a couple of inches shorter, have narrower shoulders, bigger bum & hips, flatter stomach, smaller hands, less body hair etc etc.

My point is you just have to own it! There is a very small percentage of trans girls who pass. So, go with what you’ve got. It’s wasted energy worrying about things you can’t change. Don’t be afraid to be noticed. Let’s face it, if we all passed unnoticed, that would do nothing for our community. The key for me is dressing appropriately for where you are going and what you’re doing. Doesn’t mean you can’t dress with an edge. We want to be seen just not with neon lights above our heads!

My philosophy is, most people will notice pretty quickly i’m not a genuine female but if they say, ‘I know she’s not a real girl but wow, she looks pretty good’ that’s as much as I can hope for & I’m more than happy with that. For the record, I love tall girls.

    Beautiful Kristen !
Nothing more I could add to a post like that.

Other than a little humour when a cis Female told me that when she wears heels she feels like a newly born calf!! I couldn’t stop laughing with her.

    you are gorgeous

    xx
