It depends on many factors ,
style of dress, length of dress, length of boots, Style and coloour of boots, wearing of hosery and its colour.

I agree with heels whole heartedly, but whether shoes or boots, That depends on above

    Hi Abbie.
Down here in Sydney boots are usualy more of a late Autumn to early Spring type of thing. However each to their own, there are some that wear Ugg boots with miniskirts. Not my idea of fashion! To get an idea of what people are wearing, have a look at the gossip pages in the No Idea, sorry New Idea, and the Women’s Way, I mean Womens’s Day, closer to the event.
    See you there,
    Fay

    Hi Abbie

I think a lot of people on TgR love boots (they seem to be a very common item in the profile photos – and were very popular during the last Transformal weekend). And Brenda is correct when she says that it all depends on the style of boot, dress, hosiery etc.

I have done a little research and according to “Chic SIMPLE Women’s Wardrobe” shoes are recommended – “Satin, velvet and silk faille dress things up.” with a photo of a black evening pump for the Formal Wear section. Under a section called “Instant Evening” – and I think Transformal would fall in this category – they suggest “Mules are meant for entertainment, especially in a decorative fabric. They’re sexy and as comfortable as a pair of slippers.”

So I would recommend any of the above, or a strappy black sandal, with a heel that has enough height to give a bit of glamour but not too high to make it an uncomfortable night, especially if you’re thinking of hitting the dance floor. Basically, anything with a bit of shine (patent), or sparkle. And if you’re wearing an open toe shoe, the old rule is that you do not wear hosiery. I guess not everybody follows these rules.

As for boots – well, you are welcome to wear these if they are a part of you expressing yourself. I have been to “formal” events where people have worn everything from Xmas pixie outfits, Little Bow Peep look alikes through to rubber head to foot.

You may also want to think about what style you want to follow – Euro Chic/California Casual/Rock Chick/Posh Electic (Sex and the City Carrie)/American Classic (Ralph Lauren or Brooks Brothers or preppy)/Bombshell (latest Hollywood red carpet look – Sex and the City Samantha)/Bohemian (the Olsen twins)/Arty Slick (Sex and the City Miranda) or Romantic (lace, classic styles – Sex and the City Charlotte).

Do as you please and be happy!

I hope you have found this useful.

    V xo
