Breast Forms – Some experiences
In my early days something to fill a bra adequately was a bit of a challenge.
How many of us have experimented with bags of birdseed or rice or even thick detergent liquid in a plastic bag . Ive tried all of those but it was never satisfying as to how a real breast should feelAt one stage I thought i had the ultimate solution. water crystals !!! available in garden supplies as an aid to keep moisture in soil . I bet they never thought of applications like this when they sold it.
It was a pretty good solution for finding something that had something like the texture of a breast but it was troublesome to get right…Weigh out the crystals so you had the right amount in each plastic bag then add water and leave overnight until all or most of the water was absorbed . next day tie off the bag and insert into bra.
It wasnt a bad idea for a while at a least it eliminated the idea of bird seed and rice in your bra and doubts as to whether you might be attacked as a food source by hungry birds if you just happened to be in an nice open situation somewhere.
Fast forward and these days we have silicone breast forms which have a nice balance of weight and shape (if you buy correctly ) AND have a bra to match .
I have a few different size forms depending on outfit I want to wear and its interesting how different bras will either suit or not suit some breast forms .. I remain puzzled as to how a size B breast form will sometimes
better suit a C size Bra in another brand and vice versa. wow no wonder women have such problems with bras . AND therefore why its nice to go to a place where they will fit you correctly.Anyway my one enduring piece of advice about breast forms is that if you want to wear them for a long period ie over 10 hrs or so and you have already experienced the skin irritation that can cause!! . the simple solution is to buy some nursing pads and insert one of those between breast form and your skin.
Even on summer days they absorb moisture and keep you feeling comfortable.. Ive tried various brands and even the supermarket brand ones work wellDONT however do that with the breast forms that have the adhesive backing on them other wise the cotton lint on the pads will stick to the form and hard to remove
