Central Coast Restaurant Night
Posted by Anonymous on 16/04/2010 at 8:03 amHello All,
I guess this should follow on from the last forum, but…. I have approached a business associate who ownes a restaurant on the Central Coast. I have explained my idea of a quiet spot for us girls to meet over a meal. The owner was more than enthusiastic and has offered us a choice of 3 set menus for $37.50 per head plus drinks and extras as long as we book for at least 10. So this is a perfect opportunity to get out, have fun and a great meal. I need feedback to judge how many would like to come before I book. It will be on a Wednesday night and I am thinking of early May for the first night. Please let me know your thoughts.Luv

Guest16/04/2010 at 10:53 pmSusan, not to disillusion you but can I suggest finding out if the restaurant will let you have a table with a smaller group? The thing here is that even though there is a decent size TR/TG community up there, it will take time to get a regular night happening if that’s what you really want to do (considering your previous thread). Ten people might work on the first night or once only but you’ll have a huge battle to sustain it regularly.
In the meantime, let me say this to everyone living up there….Girls, Susan is taking the initiative here, you folks that live locally should support her in this and I hope that you do. Remember that if we don’t get out into society as people then we won’t ever really be considered as “normal” people. I’ve had comments through the restaurant in Blacktown from other members of society who were quite pleased to see us in the restaurant and didn’t care because we weren’t “up ourselves” or anything like that. They just appreciated the fact that we were there to have a meal and a chat, nothing more and above all, no-one felt threatened by us. So all of you girls up in the “coast”, SUPPORT THIS, it will be something good for you if you make it work!
I’ll come up if I’m on holidays as I work nights from Tues. to Fri.

I’m in the process of moving my belly dance classes to Thursdays, which means no dance classes en femme but clears Wednesday nights (unless my wife organises something else without asking).
I’m interested in coming along, but I am concerned about the set menu, price and minimum group size of 10.
I am making an effort to cut back on meals, in part because of my weight and in part for money reasons. I know that I have very poor self control when it comes to food. If I was served a 3 course set menu meal, I’d feel compelled to eat it, even though I’d break my diet and be sick for days afterwards.
I feel that it would be better to have a normal open menu to choose from, then divide the bill according to how much each person ate, as we do at the Newcastle cafe nights.
I agree with Peta on the group size being a problem. At our cafe nights, we have between 3 and 6 about half of the time. We have had weeks where there have only been 2 of us (twice so far this year), and have had 10 or more only twice in the 15 weeks so far this year.
While the Central Coast is closer to Sydney and might get more Sydney girls coming along than we do in Newcastle (particularly if it’s close to a railway station or easily accessible from the F3), I would be very concerned that you might struggle to get the numbers if you set a minimum of 10.

Guest18/04/2010 at 2:40 amHiya Alice,
Love the colours of the dress in the new pic. I gues you are all right about the numbers and the cost. I thought that it may make it cheaper having a fixed menu but when I had a look at their prices they are similar to the Lotus anyway, so I guess I may just go with however many can come and work from the regular menu. I have had a reasonable response so will talk to the owner in the next week and pick a date.Thank you to everybody who responded, it look slike being a great night.

Guest25/04/2010 at 3:27 amWent out to the resaurant this morning (as Sue) for coffee and to meet the staff. Really lovely people and great menu. Top spot for us girls to go as we can have our choice of private positions in the resaurant. The staff where very friendly and more than happy to have our group come to their place for a meal.
So come on girls let get some numbers for the booking. Will be a great night and a good place for those who want to make their first night out a memorable occasion.
