Who are the most unlikely people or organisations to have accepted your transition?

I pose this question because one of the most unlikely (you would think) clubs in my life has accepted my transition.

For nearly 20 years now (15 when I started) I have been rifle shooting at a club in the Wanneroo area of WA. Over the years I have served on the committee of this organisation.

Then, a couple of months ago, I stood in from of about 60+ fellow members and told them about me being transgender. After I announced this, there was a silent pause then an outbreak of applause. They respected my courage to become who I am, and now I go shooting in female mode (as I live the rest of my life). I told them I do not wish to create controvercy by shooting in the ladies comp. I am just glad that they have accepted me for who I am in such a macho male environment.

Thank you to the committee and all the members of Perth Lever Action Rifle Club.
