Creating curves
Posted by Adrian on 07/07/2005 at 11:33 amHow can you create the right curves to appear truly femme?
I was thinking for those plus sized girls like myself, have a problem with our hips. What I mean is that we have big shoulders, but almost no hips. What a bummer! GG’s worry all the time about their hips being too big, while us T-Girls want to add inches in that area. Most women are not “V” shaped like guys, they end up being hour-glass or rectangle (no defined waist) shaped.
I know that one method to create the illusion of hips is to cinch the waist with some kind of corset. Another method is of course to add padding to the hip area to make them look proportional to the rest of the body.
“Are there any other methods to give the appearance of hips?”

I am going to have abdominal reduction ( more drastic than tummy tuck) wear wide dresses and/or maybe use some padding, hip enhancers, untill I can find a surgeon to insert the right stuff in the right places. Main problems with surgery right now is it may never look right bare and it will never be comfortable in bed. The price women have to pay to look beautiful!!

first, just like a woman, you have to lose weight, body fat to be precise. then you have to exercise. stand with your feet shoulder width apart and lean to the side, keeping your palm flat against your leg until you can lean over easily and touch your ankle bond. do repetitions of this and the love handle area will fade away. then, get a waist cincher, like a small girdle with no panties in it, some have attached garters and come about 5 inches below the nipples. lace it up, or hook it and you will be amazed how great it looks. you MUST buy it at least 4 inches smaller than your natural waist if you are serious….bye for now

Get a piece of dense foam rubber 2-4 inches thick and 2 foot by 2 foot. I used an old cushion off of an easy chair that was being thrown away. It was free.
Cut the cushion into 2 symetrical pieces shaped like: holsters/ pork chops/ the continent of Africa. Pick the image that is easiest for you to picture. Taper one side of the foam. a quarter inch or so thick at the edge and tapering in perhaps 4-6 inches. An electric carving knife is ideal for cutting foam rubber but scissors work.
The hip padding is worn with the long section extending down the outside of the leg and the wide portion wrapping around the buttocks. Wear them with the flat side out and they look smoother than the tapered side outwards. I try to make them thick enough that the width of the hips balances the width of the shoulders. It makes me look 15 pounds heavier but in most women, extra pounds are normal.
I wear mine under body shaper garmet that goes from the waist to the knee, but then I usually wear long skirts and slacks. If you wear short skirts try making a shorter set and wearing them under a long leg girdle. You can make pads that just wrap around the hip area and wear them under a panty girdle. If you use a foam that is not dense enough, try wearing them under control top panty hose instead of a foundation garmet.
Find some JPG’s of full frontal shots of female nudity or in bikinis. You will see that the widest point is not at the hips. The widest point is on the side of the leg, bottom of the crotch level, where the leg bone angles into the hip socket. Try to achive this effect.

If it helps, the standard profile of a woman which is ‘universally’ found attractive to men is a hip to waist ratio of between .6 and .8. Measure your hips at the widest point (where the leg bone fits in its socket) and multiply this size by .8. You’d probably be surprised that most guys have a hip measurement there of about 90cm (approx 36″). This means you only have to pull in the tummy to 72cm (about 28.5″) to have a figure which ‘just’ fits the profile. A guy’s biggest problem is with his lower ribs…they stick out further than a woman’s. If you keep this in mind when cinching with corsetry, it may help make the whole thing more achievable, especially with exercise.

Depending on how much you value your time, making your own could be a net loss, even against the expensive alternatives (i.e. the Veronica from Classic Curves http://www.clcrv.com ). I own one of these fabulous garments and seldom dress without it. It adds hips and tush in just the right proportions in just the right places. So what you pay for it up front saves a *lot* of trial and error.
Lately, when it comes to pricey garments, I’ve developed the philosophy that I’m worth it. And so are you.

Just a suggestion in regards to DIY foam padding.
If you use home-made pads, such as Wendy suggests (I do), then you may have come across the problem that sticking them under your control panty can present a problem when the panty has to come off, e.g. you just have to use a public bathroom, and the pads fall off. I found it extremly diffcult to re-position them without a mirror the first time I was forced to use a ladies room (I pass without (observed) question). Having to repeatedly wait for the room to be empty to check myself in the mirrors, then duck back into the box to adjust, then repeat, just took ages.
So, why not copy what the Veronica-garment does?
Get two pairs of close-fitting ladies bike pants (cloth-type, not the smooth/slippery polyester types). Put on one fully, the other partially, place the pads (one at a time, pull 2nd bike pant on fully, smooth the creases, etc… done.
Then always take the lot of together and the pads stay in place, even when stored. Cuts down initial dressing up time by about 10-15 minutes too.Submitted by: Michel

I have been using a Veronica 3 from classic curves to acheive all these things, with just one garment. I have been very pleased with it , to say the least. The garment itself is lightwight, and the gel pads “feel” much more natural than the foam version. The “cinch” in the middle gives just enough, and I can move and breathe. The “diva” effect is also built in “topside” and I wouldn’t be without one again. They aren’t cheap. But…. I have really been enjoying wearing mine…not dreading putting it on.

Guest24/01/2007 at 9:15 pmCorset and waist training is also very good …
But you have to stick at it, it could take 3-4 mths before you notice any difference, and you WILL need the help (hopefully a nice man! ) to help you put it on …
You have one for the day, and one to sleep in .. and trust me, they do work, I used to do that before hormones and was starting to get a nice hour glass figure …
they have to be very TIGHT otherwise its not really going to work,
There is a seller in ebay in the US “Alter Ego” or something like that, I’ve got two corsets from her, she’s a nice lady in emails and very TS friend .
the way it works is, the leather from the corset strecthes to your skin, so you don’t wear them too tight with to start with, they sit on your body nicely, and you go tighter everytime ..
you MUST make sure its a leather one with METAL boning, otherwise it won’t work!
Love, Anee .

Guest03/10/2008 at 12:56 pmI wear a body shapewear from Squeem. Squeem’s good and my bulging tummy makes it less obvious. It’s really good to wear it over a skimpy dress.

Guest18/06/2009 at 10:55 pmThanks for the advice offered on this subject – I have found it to be the most troubling area I face.Even resorted to wrapping with clingwrap first, and then using duct tape wrapped around to get the appropriate humps and hollows (Yes, the cling wrap stops the tape sticking to my body so no scarring or pain is involved with its removal). I think for Jan, and for the drab me, that exercise is actually the most valuable aid.

Guest05/12/2009 at 9:18 pmI was just browsing the internet for transgender shopping, unfortunately most of them are in europe.
One caught my eye though http://www.special-trade.eu/Tranny they have a baby bump for sale and i was wondering who would actually wear one, could,nt see myself doing it.
I suppose if someone were to give you a second look to determine as to your true sex and see the baby bump then they would naturally assume you were genetically female that would be the advantage but im happy just to wear breast forms. Baby bump nooo, imagine it people coming up to you asking when its due or have you picked a name yet. -

Guest05/12/2009 at 11:03 pmIn addition to getting rid of excess fat, using hip padding plus corset, certain clothing combinations can also give the illusion of reduced shoulder and increased hip width, giving you the curve. Genetic women with broad shoulders do these too, celebrities included. The idea is to deemphasize the shoulder and emphasise other parts of your body, especially the bottom
DOs:
-Wear thick strapped tops, raglan tops
-3/4 or long sleeved tops
-Strapless/halter neck tops
-Dark/dull coloured tops
-Longer length tops instead of shorter length tops
-Looser tops, flared/bell shaped sleeves
-Long wide skirts
-White/bright coloured skirts, pants/jeansTRY TO AVOID:
-Spaghetti strapped tops
-Shorter-lengthed tops
-Tight tops, bottoms and skirts
-Bright colours on top and dark colours at the bottomHope this helps….

Guest09/03/2010 at 6:43 amTry Secrets in Lace (mail order), they have some nice one, coloured and white/black. Pick 2-3″ less than your waist size.
Good luck, I’ve got a nice one now but it took ages to find it.

Another option is classic curves – the Veronica series is very impressive. Veronica 5 is the latest and it’s great. For smoothing things out, a body briefer (for example Rago 9357 in the Secrets in Lace website that Lisa has mentioned) will do the trick. Best wishes, Tanya
