    Hello!

One of the best pools I have been to is in the Crown Metropol hotel in Melbourne. It has wonderful views, is light and airy, and is enclosed (I prefer that to an open air pool in this particular geographic location – especially if you get four seasons in one day).

One of the strongest points about this pool, is that, during the day, during the week, it is often practically empty, although I would try and time my stay outside of school holidays. This means that you should feel pretty safe and comfortable here.

Well – something to think about! Special deals come up from time to time, so keep a look out for any applying to this establishment.

What exactly is the issue here? I go on holiday round Australia and never have any issues with my presentation. I’ve just got back from a long weekend up in Port Stephens (including plenty of time on the beach) and we are off to Adelaide for a week in March.

What is it that the enterprising entrepreneur has to provide that we can’t find already in any hotel or motel in Australia? It is years since I had any unpleasant experiences even in the most rural country towns.

Even TransFormal doesn’t close the hotel down to other guests. And we have received nothing but good feedback through the hotel from non-TF guests.

Sounds like it is time to realise the fear is unjustified and just book your holidays like everyone else and enjoy.

I am guessing here, but I think part of Petra’s concern is dealing with the changing rooms after going swimming.

Suzzanne, Amanda is absolutely right about how we are accepted without issue when we attend TransFormal. Even the local Coles staff don’t look twice when we go shopping.

At the risk of going off topic in an unmoderated forum….well why not?

    a) Hotel pools I just slip on something and go back to my room to change/shower

    b) The beach. Firstly I look for toilet blocks with external showers (to rinse off after a swim). I never go into the toilet/change block – unless it is a trendy one with an ‘accessible’ section. I either go to the beach with my bathers on under a dress, or I get changed under a towel. Never had any dramas.

On the topic of resorts, a couple years ago I went to Turtle Cove (www.turtlecove.com) which is a resort for the gay & lesbian community in the Cairns/Port Douglas area.
It was self contained and you had pool and beach facilities and it was reasonably price.
There were no problems in being in femme mode for the duration of the stay.

Ownership has changed since I was there but the core service for the Gay & Lesbian (and TG) community remains.

    Cheers,

    Wendy :)
