(Spilt from a post in another forum

Last night my brother and his family were visiting us and I had my computer on and had signed into msn messenger in my melissa address but when I had finished (I’m not exactly sure why), I didnt shut it down as I normally would, I left it open and signed in to msn.
When I came back to my computer a little later, my brother (who knows about melissa) was using it and he was showing my dad something about something else online. I was sitting there thinking “please nobody sign in to messenger at that point” as those of you who use that programme know that when someone does, a little box pops up to say that ……….has signed in.
thankfully nobody did. Later I was talking to my brother about it and he said that he was thinking the same thought of thing that I was, he didnt know what he might find on my computer but then he said “maybe someone with a name from Rocky Horror Picture show or something like that, Frank-n-furter”.
    .

Yet another good reason, besides virus, trojans and hackers, to dump MSN (software) and use Trillian – then you get all your IM chat services in one pacakage and can have as many MSN accounts as you like :)

I have about 12 running presently using the one Trillian.

And about 4 on the other copy I run.

Ensures that the younger people (like under 16) I seem to attract are in a more “suitable” profile, whereas the adult friends can be a little more visual.

Yesterday while checking out my account on hotornot.com, I got a double match with a woman in america so I tried to see if she would have a chat on there and she did.
while my account is in the gay female section, I have put on my profile that I am a crossdresser as to avoid any confusion (if any).
But anyway, we started chatting and she asked me if I was “straight, bi, les or what? and I just said “did you read my profile” and she said that she had but it was one of many so went back and re-read it and then realised. I asked if it was a problem (she happened to be gay herself-I repeated her question back to her) and she said no but her first question finding out was “so do you like guys or something?”.
So from what I could gather, she thought I was a woman (or didnt look at me too closely). On one other occasion when I hadnt listed that I was a crossdresser, I did have this other woman just assuming that I was a woman which I thought was kind of cool

Was going post in PM, but decied this is too important for everyone, replace your vulnerable and security flawed MSN software with this

Hey, you should check out this cool IM program I use, Trillian. It allows me to talk to people on all the major IM networks. You can find out more about it at http://www.ceruleanstudios.com/.

Just download, and install, it’s not complex and works really easy. You can have as many MSN, AIM, ICQ, IRC and other accounts active at the same time without any hassle.

I run a couple of copies, one for “adult” contacts and one for business and one for my under 18 contacts. Heaven forbid that these should get mixed up!

I find pidgin quite good. It supports MySpaceIM in addition to all the other usual ones. Also, being open source, they don’t have a crippled free version and a full version that you have to pay for. The full version is free. :)
