  • Dealing with stalkers and tranny chasers

At this week’s Newcastle cafe night, we had a tranny chaser show up. He walked in to the cafe early in the evening, asked if we go somewhere afterwards, mumbled incoherently a bit about meeting friends elsewhere, then left.

Just before we were going to leave, he came back. Apparently when one of the girls went outside for a smoke, he propositioned her. When another girl was away from the group, she was similarly propositioned.

By the time we were going to leave, he appeared to have left. Well, no such luck, as I’ve described in my blog.

So I guess my question is have others had problems with behaviour like this, and if so, how have you dealt with it?

    Hi Alice,

I’m so sorry to hear about all of that.
    You must have been terrified.

Yes i’ve had similar things happen. (plural)

I think the best advice is to do everything possible to not make ourselves easy targets.
Park in a well lit area where there’s alot of people around where you can.
    Move in groups.
Walk each other to our cars even if its out of our way.
Then deliver our chaperone back to hers.
Make sure whoever we’re with gets in their car and the thing starts.

These things most often seem to happen when you’re leaving somewhere, because the creep has gone to a high target envorinment, targeted someone and then tried to act on it.
Theres less people around at closing time or near to, and the guy knows that he is less likely to be observed if its late or dark, etc.
As creepy as it sounds you have to be that careful.
So wherever we can try to walk each other to our cars.
Keep our eyes peeled for anything out of the ordinary or confusing.
These peeps work on confusing their target and they appear out of nowhere very often.

Again, I’m so sorry to hear about what happened, and lets all look out for each other in the future.

    Hugs,
    Claire

Good advice Claire and as I have taught self defense to woman I thought I might add some other tips. Have your keys out and ready as you approach your car so as to be able to get straight into the car and to use as a weapon if needed (they hurt across the face). Check in the vehicle before you get in and look around, if unsure keep walking and go into a shop or restaurant or whatever and wait. Also remember that your number plate can be used to gain info so don’t go to your car if you are concerned.
These kind of predators want an easy target so if they pursue you then they have probably made a number of assumptions about you. They probably think you are looking for sex and assume that you are also passive. Don’t be afraid to set them straight especially in a loud voice so others can hear. If attacked then use your loudest male voice to surprise them. This may just buy you enough time to run (without heels if necessary).
When walking look confident by walking upright and not stooped as it sends a visual cue that you are not afraid.
There are many good books on the subject so seek them out and learn.
PS I detest violence but you have to look after yourself so stay safe.

I think that Tranny predators is a more apptopriate name. Just sick puppies. 😈

Isn’t that all a trifle over dramatic. In my experience these sort of guys are shy and easily deterred. The larger danger are those that don’t approach you, that you are unaware of, and that are with their ‘mates’. Solo tranny chasers are easy to deal with.

But take heed about the general safety advice above.

p.s. I have spoken to a few tranny chasers and a simple ‘no thanks’ ends the conversation and the pursuit.

It was a fun night and i’m going to do it again.
It was a giggle and a laugh and i had a blast.

Having said that…we had a gate crasher, whom we had some sport with.

The guy wasn’t a CD, he was there to pick up.
I just want to have fun and thats what i aim to do.

As for punching someone…i think there are better options.

    Again..have fun, have a laugh.
    I know i will.
Take the piss out of each other and everyone else.
And look out for one another.

    Good advice.

    C’mon girls
I think we take these people a bit seriously
There is that tiny moment when you get talked to when you think – ok so i look ok then. And get all a bit hair flicky
After that do your best truckie voice – yeh mate i eff’ing love a pina colada and a snog – cheers – he won’t stay trust me
Nearly everyone meets someone because someone did the walk up and ask lets face it
As long as we protect the girls in the community who might actually be at risk, just leave them be, or tell them to bugger off.
I grew up in a tough environment so im a bit hard
But i have a few friends who are small and meek and i make sure they are ok first
And I wear closed toes out because an open toe makes it hard to…deter someone with quite enough force….just kidding – never had to do that. Hope i don’t

This was my first experience with a tranny chaser.

I’m now well aware that several people who weren’t there when I was followed to my car are of the opinion that I over reacted and that I wasn’t in the slightest danger.

I have to disagree with their assessment, but I also think that the discussion will probably have to end now to avoid devolving as some threads here seem to do.

From my point of view, I regarded this person as a bit of a joke and a nuisance when he showed up and I was a little surprised when at least one of our group seemed to deliberately set out to antagonise him. It was only when he reappeared when I was completely alone on the street that my attitude changed.

Whether it was his intention or not, having someone wait for everyone else I was with to be out of sight before following me was very frightening and confronting. I am not heavily built and I have spent many years conscientiously avoiding building muscle in my upper body.

I’m fairly sure that some of the girls who have told me that I was in no danger and that my fear was irrational would be frightened when clearly followed by a strange man in a poorly lit back street at night.

Sorry Alice didn’t men to make light of your experience, sounds scary. I just think the majority are just dickheads or losers. For the real problem ones, i agree its not a laughing matter -maybe time to find out where you can get capsicum spray

I was out two thursday nights ago in the city with a TS girlfriend, her ex-gg girlfriend, an their flatmate (who incidentally is gay go figure!)

We went to a dance club, not usual thing really but I liked the company and the encouragement they gave me to dance :)

When sitting on one of the lounges I had a guy sit next to me. After a few minutes I felt his hand brush against my thigh, well more against my buttock!

I took it as an accidentally thing and made no comment, didn’t even look.

Then I felt it again, but there were lots of people jostling on the lounge so again I gave it nothing.

Then a bump on my leg, my thigh and his hand mad a direct beeline for my bum!

I pulled his hand away and smiled.

A few mins later he was again caressing my leg and then shouted something at me that made me realize he was an admirer. (He mentioned a Tranny Club asking if I’d been there before.)

He was rather persistent so I told him he could touch the leg but that was all. Hey I like being treated nice and a bit of caressing never goes astray and the last thing I wanted was a rather tipsy near drunk guy getting abusive.

Anyway, he caressed my leg for quite a few hours, I had t push his hand down from under my rather short dress a few times, especially when his hand was VERY insistent!

Anyway, when we left he chased me outside (does that make him a Tranny Chaser?) and asked if I wanted to come back to his place he has some [drugs] and we could have some fun.

I declined saying I don’t do drunks or drugs :) He was a bit try hard to convince me it would be good, but the GG I was wish quickly wrapped herself around me said “She mine tonight, see you later” and dragged me off.

I guess every situation is different. There have been guys at the Taxi Club I won’t let even touch me because you know that allowing a little will cause serious problems. And yet there are others at Taxi that are sooo sweet, even hesitant to touch, and are so gentle. I like those ones :) I can never have enough attention :) Especially under the table!

    (Yup, I can be such a caress-slut!)

It sounds like the incident in Newcastle wasn’t very exciting. being propositioned isn’t anything spectacular. GG’s get propositioned all the time, at work, at the shops, on the bus … so having a Tranny Chaser proposition is no more an issue to a TG than a bloke asking a woman on the street out for coffee.

Take it in stride, smile, be flattered, say thanks, but not today, or that you just aren’t interested, gosh say you are lesbian if need be.

Keep your phone handy in case you need it and always go into a shop or something if you are being followed or find the person too harassing. Most places have security cameras that record, especially petrol stations, so simply find the nearest recorded CCTV and group of people :)
