Does HRT affect your susceptibility to other health issues (colds & flu)
Hello everyone
I’ve just been sick recently, and whilst I rarely get the Flu this year was it for me. It’s also taking much longer to get over than previously. Unfortunately my usual Doctor was away and I had to see another Dr, she indicated that it’s possible that HRT can increase the likelihood of getting sick.. is there something in this, or is it just part of the body adjustment to a different hormone mix?
Has anyone else had any experience that could shine some light one way or another?
PS: I’m just at 5 months since starting HRT..

After 3 years on HRT , I havnt noticed any higher tendency to be affected by common cold or Flu but must say in each of last two years I’ve had the Flu shot.
No ill affects from that either.
I’d ask your physician if they are are of any tendency of HRT to make you more susceptible but my guess is they won’t have any clinical info on it.
