  • Earrings clip on for studs and drop earrings

    Hi everyone
I was recently in a jewellery store called Lovisa and asked the sales assistant whether they had many clip on earrings, only a few she replied, BUT they do sell clip on earrings that allow any stud or hook type earring to be attached to the clip.
The “converters” are $3 a pair and can be bought instore (go on and just ask) or ordered on line from http://www.lovisa.com.au (search for clip on earrings)

Hi hon, saw your post, the clip on ear rings you talked about can also be purchased via ebay and are quite a lot cheaper. I bought ten sets for about 1.00 AUD. They are very handy but still are no replacement for pierced ears. Just thought I would let you know

    Hi Girls
Arpis house of transformations. He makes them and sells them on the website. Better clips than the ones from ebay and individual. Check the website out.

I bought a pack (pair) of clip on earing converters from Lincraft for $2.99. I also bought a couple of packs of different sized jewellery rings and with these I’ve been able to attach earings to the converters after removing the hooks.

They are listed as screw-on clips and are almost identical to the Lovisa product but without the small silver half ball on the clip itself and are adjustable. I also bought a pair of Lovisa clip-ons to try the same thing.

I’m going to experiment with making a couple of pairs of earings by ‘converting’ those meant for pierced ears.

    Here’s hoping it works.

    Hello to everyone on TGR

I sourced the “converters from various places. Cheap yes, damned uncomfortable, yes again.

No “padding” on behind the ear “clip” and sharp enough to inflict a small cut when I took them off.

For “out there” styles… eg long dangly rhinestones, work your way through the costume hire/sale places. Most are for pierced, but some good clip ons do exist.

    Happy dressing,

    Caty

Caty, before I got my ears pierced, I used to use earring adaptors.
I used ones that were screw-clip, similar to the ones on this page:
    http://www.luc-co.com/screw-clip-earring-converter—1-pair
In your trying of earring adaptors, did you try this style?

For me, this style worked well, as the tightness of the clip could be adjusted, so they stayed put without pinching.
Down side to adaptors like them is they are solely for post type pierced earrings, and were useless for hook styles.

I bought a packet of this style of converter from ebay a year ago but don’t use them. There was just two much clumpy metal involved. A well designed clip on earring looks heaps better.

I bought a couple of pairs earlier this year and after trying them with studs etc I was very disappointed. However, I will get some drop earrings and try them and hopefully get a good result… Looks like I might have to get my ears pierced
