Have you tried searching for “Hayes” in the forums. There are two posts from people who have been referred to him.

Guest06/02/2013 at 4:53 amHi Chloe, I dont have any experience with Dr Hayes (I live in another state) but i seem to recall he has been mentioned previously a fair bit in the yahoo group called ATSN (Australian Transexual Support Network) http://au.groups.yahoo.com/group/atsn/ .
You could give them a try. Good luck with everything.regards,

Ahh.. that is where you may find the fun starts. ATSN has an entrance requirement you are a transexual “undertaking affirmation treatment”. You may find that they have a narrow view of the medical needs of any other part of the gender spectrum. Well that was my experience many many years ago.

Guest06/02/2013 at 5:29 amThanks A/A & Alison. I have just (finally) managed to navigate my way through to (try) & join the group…membership pending!
I’ll update for other users once I get an answer. Let the fun begin.
We are still on topic – just yet to work out how to find out what others think about the endo in question. -
Hi Chloe,
In answer to your question. Absolutely gorgeous man. Knows his stuff backwards. I’d place my life in his hands. In fact I have, and haven’t looked back since.
A somewhat biased response? Probably. But I’ve licked the ice cream and I want a double scoop.
You’ll be fine with him.

Hi I have been seeing him for about 2 years, every easy going. Can be a bit too easy going at times. Have no problems with him. He took over from Dr Steinbeck Any questions just ask.

Guest07/02/2013 at 10:52 pmQuick update; I have now been accepted for membership to ATSN & I have received numerous welcomes already (first day).
Thank you to all who have provided info on Dr Jonathon Hayes, both on the forum & privately by email.
He seems to be highly regarded by his patients & that includes complimentary comments from non Tg people as well.
My appointment is not until April…once I’ve seen him I will offer my initial opinion of him.
If anyone else has any experience with him please continue to advise for the benefit of others as well.

Guest27/07/2013 at 8:24 amQuick update;
I have seen Dr Hayes a number of times now & find him to be a very nice & knowledgeable person. He has extensive experience with Tg people & appears to sincerely care about their wellbeing. His approach (in my case) has been thorough & systematic to ensure that should any unwanted side effects occur, that it is easy to identify what of the 3 components of HRT is causing the unwanted effect/s. His approach seems sensibly cautious but does not require unnecessary visits/cost.A referral from a GP is all that is required to see him but implementation of HRT requires the O.K. of a psychiatrist.
