Hi Janique, re bushy brows, if you do not wish to have the pleasure of plucking, I suggest using a comb and a pair of nail scissors, comb the brow upward and trim along the comb, I also pluck as well but this may not be suitable for you.

Guest28/12/2004 at 2:08 amMy personal preference is to go get them waxed, but that is not everyone’s cup of tea. Another option if you are afraid of waxing, is to trim them with a set of hair clippers. This will thin them down, and take the “Bushiness” out of them. Another option is to use a brow comb and hair gel. Sounds silly but it works. Just apply the gel into the brow in the direction of the hair growth and then comb following the direction of the growth into the centreline of the brow. Let the gel set and they will have a thinner appearance. Good Luck.

Guest21/08/2012 at 1:50 pmI know this is an old thread but..
There is a great video on YouTube showing how to cover-up big eyebrows without tweezing them to nothing – in case you like to maintain your normal brows for work, etc.
The trick is to take a glue stick and run it over your brows to stick them down. It takes a few coats sometimes but really does work!
Wait for them to dry and then cover with powder, then redraw a cuter line with your favourite brow pencil

Guest26/08/2012 at 10:07 amQuiet a lot of videos on youtube for covering eyebrows; one that caught my eye (couldn’t help but go for the pun!) was http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dul7Yq3VPf8. As a bonus, the products used are available from a number of .au stores including House of Priscilla on Oxford Street in Sydney (over the road from Independent Wigs) http://199.238.185.181/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=81&vmcchk=1&Itemid=81.
Another video that I’ve watched a number of times for tips is a transformation vid that includes eyebrow covering http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VqRM-4Z65Yo.
Hope any of that helps, Sarah.

Yikes. Extremely poor form for a retail store site with a bricks and mortar presence! Apologies all, I have a hardware firewall stripping out all ads, doing antivirus etc before it gets to internal PCs; on top of that I block ads and scripts on the PCs themselves – I would have only seen the issue if I browsed the Mb’s of firewall logs.

Guest01/10/2012 at 2:55 amOK after a lot of trial-and-error I’ve found the best way (for myself at least). It probably varies depending upon the thickness, curliness and length of your brows.
Here’s my protocol now:
– Comb the brows with a fine tooth comb and pluck to thin them out a little (keep the shape but remove about 20% of the hairs uniformly across the brow.. especially long hairs)
– Apply wax liberally across the brow (Taft extreme hold modelling wax is a good one)
– Allow wax to dry thoroughly, and repeat the application / drying cycle (sometimes I need to use 4 coats to get all the hair stuck down)
– Apply powder over the area until it’s completely blended with the face.. you’ll need to use a lot of powder but avoid using any liquid, it’ll dissolve the wax and make a huge messI forgot to mention.. keep the brush tight and use it to apply powder thickly using a dabbing motion. It will give better results.
Also, the wax should be so thick that it actually hides the texture of the brow hairs, not just their colour. It should be fully dry before adding powder though.
Make the brow-hiding the first step of your make up application to avoid screwing up eyeshadow etc.
