If you want good quality shoes Joanne Mercer has up to size 11 (or its equivalent in another sizing system). I went in there as a man to get some boots with painted toenails and they were really nice!

I buy Target shoes, their 11s are a firm but comfortable fit, so if they are going to a 13, then there’ll be more choice and they’ll be even more comfortable. I have noticed that Big W and K Mart have gone to size 11 in the past couple of years. It wasn’t that long ago when 10 was the largest female size available at most mainstream stores.

And most of the mainstream brands make at least a size 12 like Diana Ferrari or Sandler,
And more importantly they are most of the time the pairs that are left at the end of season and on special so its its a win win. :)

I’ve always (or mainly) shopped for SuperSoft (Diane Ferrari) etc at Myers. Never had trouble finding my size in 11, width may be a bit of a challenge. The ladies are always helpful in finding the right fitting shoe.

As we age our feet continue growing, albeit ever so slowly, so we need to keep that in mind. The ultimate solution is to have shoes handmade, guaranteed a perfect fit but expensive. They look good to.

Meanwhile ladies, have a safe and magical Christmas.

I buy all my shoes from Shoebuy.com. Yes, it is an American online company, but I have never had a problem with them and they are super quick to get your order to the door within a week.
The great thing about them is you have a hugh range of top quality shoes, different styles, but also, bigger sizes and different widths.
With the Aussie dollar so high at the moment, now is the time to take a second look at this company

One important thing with buying shoes is finding which manufacturers make shoes in a wide fitting. There isn’t a lot of point in looking for places that carry the right length, if the styles they carry are made for the typical a/b width.
Generally I wind up buying Homy Peds from a local chemist, as the majority of their styles go up to size 11 in length and a lot of their styles are made for a C+ width.

    Hi Girls

I am surprised that no-one has mentioned Long Line Shoes. They stock ladies shoes from 10-14. I have been there in both modes & have been treated extremely well.

They are in the Dymock’s Building in George St & Darcy St Parramatta. They also have a mail order department.

    I hope this helps.

Lisa – the reason is that this forum is not state specific – and whilst web based retailers can be accessed by everyone, shops in a particular place cannot. That’s why I encourage people to post about specific retailers in the state resource forums – like this one

(And yes under NSW you will find a number of references to Long Line shoes)

    Hi Chantelle,

Realise you may be all set up for shoes for the moment, but have your tried Long line in Sydney or Rosenberg’s or Glamazon in Melbourne.?

I take a male size 11, (never know what that is in female shoes), and over the years have purchased from Long Line in “the old days” and more recently (and more frequently), from Glamazon.

Mira at Glamazon is extremely TG friendly and has some lovely and well priced shoes.

    Just a thought.

    Regards

I’ve bought from Longline, but they only had one pair that I liked and that (sort of) fitted. I love them, but they blister one of my toes.

I’m about to come out as Chantelle in my consulting work, so I have a very clear view of how I wish to present as a “Professional Woman” (business professional that is!) My perception is that, to get away with being a TG business woman, I need to really look the part.
