I was just surfing the net and came across this story from Japan

    http://mdn.mainichi.jp/mdnnews/news/20090801p2a00m0na006000c.html

A fascinating story, but the thing that gets me is the description of our community as being a disorder it always amazes me how journalists and doctors try to pigeonhole you. But I never felt that what I am doing should be classified as a disorder it hard enough for our community to be taken seriously without some medical practitioner adding a label to us.

Maybe I’m a little naive and if so I hope I stay that way, I know we all have problems but trying to add to them with a title that can only an image of a person who is unstable is a bit much.

    Penny,

Yes, it’s no fun knowing learned society still sees us as having a ‘mental illness’ is it.

Have a surf for: Ray Blanchard – autogynaephilia
Kenneth Zucker – reparative “therapy” for children – forcing children to conform to gender stereotypes
J Michael Bailey – The man who would be Queen
Dr Anne Lawrence – a post-op ts puppet who self identifies as autogynaephilic. If that’s her thing fine, but why force it onto the rest of us
The Clarke Institute (aka Durassic Clarke) – the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) Toronto

Blanchard and Zucker are currently heading Committees reviewing our ‘mental illness’ status for the DSM-V at this time.

There is a great deal of dispute about these abusive unscientific theories being used against us

Lynne Conway and TSRoadmap.com may help you understand some of this and direct you to other reading

    I live with this 24/7.
