Agreed. Even males having both ears pierced these days is a fairly common thing. I had one ear done about 10 years ago and the other done a few years back, nobody asked any questions, called me queer or even noticed. Recommend it though, with the range of gorgeous earring out there how could you resist not getting them done.

😆 to all who are unsure about ear piercing, do not be afraid, I did my own 15 years ago, have never been questioned about them or my sexuality. In the last 15 years, I have been to 3 job interviews and have not been questioned about them, and , yes I did get those 3 jobs. :D

I agree, these days there so many males wearing earrings that no one makes any connections in relation to either gender dysphoria or preference. I have had three for many years now and even, at one stage, to stir my wife had five. I was well into my forties by then!
A girl where I work recently commented, as a gag (sadly), that I was like a rock star!!! (very sad!!!) **LOL** Ah well.
    cheers,
    Helen

Hi all – first time in this part, but here goes.

The earing thing drove me nuts for ages. I pierced my left when I was younger, and no big deal. Have done my right twice before and let grow over almost immediately. But this year, I did the second and started letting it heal. I have a crease in my right ear in the perfect spot to hide it. No one has noticed, and the feeling of wearing two (especially something long and heavy) is well worth it.
My wife has been ok with it too, and even got me a nice pair. Just do it.

i went and got both ears done a week ago, a free earings deal suckered me in, but studdex makes a invisable set, for under 10 bucks, they are plastic and keep the ear holes open, these days skater dudes and emos all have their ears done and at westfields i counted 12 guys out of say 140 that had no peircings etc.. so i think more and more guys are going there, but still not enough

    cause its pretty ,Right?
a freind of mine who is good with soldering said get an old pair at a op shop and solder it to anything you want, but it is hard to do if you dont know what you are doing, but for me it has to be real holes, hoops and dangaly earings are so hot right now.

but i do understand, in a manly environments it is hard to be a lady, i have found
good luck in finding some pretty blings. 4 tha ears.

my ten cents worth? just do it and be proud.

yesterday, returned from an overseas trip, and the customs/immigration guy in my queue was sporting two pierced ears and a goatee beard.

not a problem. i didn’t detect anyone giving him a bad time or bad vibes (well, maybe that suss looking mexican drug smuggler behind me excepted)

    hope this helps.

btw – forget the goatee – not a good look in femme, unless you’re doing the drag king thing.

if you have concerns about earrings in *manly* situations, check out phillip hughes, the new batting sensation in australian cricket.

ask any true blue full blooded aussie bloke, and i think you’ll find that they will probably consider cricket a man’s game (sure, it’s not ute racing or roo hunting). and yet, here we have a man wearing the baggy green with shiny earrings! i wonder if he gets bad vibes and a hard time …

maybe he’s (the horror) a tranny!

Sleepers or a plain set of studs and nobody pays any attention. That said I’ve see a hairy biker (you know the sort, four foot beard and a bandanna) with a diamond pendant in one ear and a stud in the other. Looks rather cute.

I did my own at age 23 but could only do one and had to wait a week or as I felt faint, it was the noise of the cartelege and having to push harder than I thought. In those days it was a large pin and a cork…we was toof!!!
I love it when kids ask me why I have earrings, I tell them I’m a pirate. They usually say I’m not to which I reply ” why have I got earrings then?” that usually stumps them!
I agree with Virginia…pierce and be damned!!

Hi ladies, read a topic a few days ago re. earrings, I did my own piercing myself when I was 20, ( now 46 ) 2 in each lobe, seemed like no one even noticed, a few did, a few gave some remarks, most good, :P ,prefer sleepers but do also have studs and danglies, if yer not sure, don’t do it, if you are go for it, chemists sell self do stud kits. 😆

Got to say I got my right ear done April last year ( about 18 months ago now), and not one person has ever noticed or said a thing – so I agree, I think a lot of our worries are in our own heads.

Claudia, ALL our worries are in our heads!! Noone has ever said the things I have feared they would and yet I still feel anxious if I take HER out in public.

I’ve had mine done for 30 years, it wasn’t an issue then and it isn’t one now.

I had both my ears pierced about five years ago and have never regretted a moment.Whenever I see my male self in the mirror my earrings-small sleeper type hoops-remind me of who I am
For those who are having doubts-just do it!!

    Hugs

    Lee
