    Hi Chelsea

I had the same problem before I started hormones, I was just starting to lose my hair and I could see where it was thining.

I used a product called Silica

    http://www.planethealth.com.au/advert_large_qsilica.htm

I took two tablets each day, 100 tablets cost $50.00 so a $1.00 per day. It is one thing that takes a lot of time to work but I am happy with the results. I have not taken the product for the last 8 months or so and I still have my full head of hair.

I would still be on this product, but having to save a lot of money in a short period of time ment that a lot of things had to go by the board, but I will be going back to it when my goals are met,.

I was put on to this product by other tgirls when I first started and they had the same results, it just takes a lot of time.

Saw palmetto is a worth a try.
I wish I had know about this 35 years ago. 😄

It blocks the hormone 5 alpha reductase this is the hormone that converts testosterone to di-hydro testosterone.

Di Hydro testosterone 😈 is the hair follicle killer.

    And stay healthy

i agree with the use of saw palmetto !
Its well referenced on the net as an enemy of male pattern baldness – or should I say THE enemy ! There is a prescription drug availabe for the same purpose but if you look at the websites for baldness the vast majority of shampoos for thinning hair contain saw palmetto as an ingredient .As well, mopst of th capsules or tablets for thinnng hair have it as a major ingredient … This is partly because it s avalable as an OTC compouind and you dont hav eto have script to get it but more importantly Saw Palmetto is superior in performance to the drug ( which is finasteride) with respect to both prostate and hair loss
Yes just go to your local health store or Pharmacy ask for it ?

I do agree to a point. My doctor took me off blockers as my hormone level was high enough that my body was not producing any testosterone (0.05 instead of 15-30, that about the same as fresh water), so there was nothing left to block.

So it will depend on how far down the track you are with your hormone treatment. So before taking blockers of any type talk to your doctor, as you dont want to be wasting your time and money with the risk of any side effects of that drug.

You need to give your body the tools to restart hair growth as my doctor explained. Your body will spend better if all your hair and nails are growing at there best.

So what ever product you go for, just look at how it will help and if it is valid to your situation.

    Good luck.

HI thanks for all the tips im seeing my doctor on thursday ill see what he says but im going to ask him to be referred to an Endo. Also you said something about water (0.05 instead of 15-30, that about the same as fresh water) is this in tap water cause I don’t drink bottled water but I drink lots of tap water about 3-4L up to 5L a day if im riding my push bike is testosterone found in water.
Thanks everyone I will let you know what happens thanks lov chels

    Hi all
I forgot to mention that taking both Saw Palmetto and finastertide wiil usually result in regrowth of hair that has fallen out – provided the haior lass has occurred during the last year of hair loss – ie if you lost hair say 4 or 5 yrs back taking th herb or drug will not restore the lost hair
Also I have close friend who when she went on HRT found that hair regrew in places on her head where she had lost it ( due to male pattern baldness )
Yes I would go to a GOOD endo !

    Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT)
Saw palmetto may have anti-estrogen effects and may, therefore, make hormone replacement therapy with estrogen less effective. Check with your healthcare provider before combining saw palmetto with hormone replacement therapy.

I just got myself some saw palmetto this morning but then I researched it some more and found all this?
Is it anything to worry about? I will be seeing my endo in less than two weeks and it will be interesting to see what he says but in the meantime.. the thought of estrogen being effected just seems like it’s a choice between the two :S
    *confused*
I only have a small area I want back but it’s enough to make me do what I can, hopefully without effecting HRT.

It also made me wonder if anti-androgens are not blocking this alpha5 or whatever it’s called then what else is it not blocking? You’d think it would cover everything?? :S:S:S:Sx1000
