Hair rollers
As you can tell from my photos I have long held an interest ( some would say FETISH!) in hair setting. I love the looks of the 50’s and 60’s as they were my formative years with my transgender self and these styles require roller setting and I worked as a hairdressing apprentice in late 60’s. The salon in those days was a purely woman’s world and I enjoyed the chance to be part of that world.
I have just bought some cheap foam rollers and have been sleeping in them a bit so that I can have a bouncy ‘do’ for the morning to go to work. Velcro rollers are hard on your hair but these seem to be very gentle and once I got used to it sleeping is no issue.
I am lucky that I am unpartnered I guess as ” hubby ” sleeping in curlers is probably many steps too far for most women!!
Does anyone else enjoy roller sets? -

Hi Christina.
Whilst I have been on the looking for work treadmill, it allowed me to grow my hair length this allowed me to experiment with both curlers and a hot curler, didn’t have much luck with rollers, either not setting or not being able to get them to hold.
Eventually I gave up and just used the hot curler !! I would like to have had more time to practice !!.pat

I am about to fulfill a long time goal to have my hair done at a local salon. There is a new young hairdresser in town I have got to know and she has agreed to do a retro roller set for me today. I am a bit apprehensive and there is a thunderstorm brewing so I hope it goes well, I have a back up sheet to put over it if I have to dash to the car in the rain!. It is one thing to do my hair at home and wear it the next day and another to get it done publicly. The hypnosis tapes must be cutting in as I am happy to go ahead despite being a bit nervous!!!.

I am not sure what you mean Shana . I had a great time, it looked great and was worth every dollar to be told I looked beautiful by a beautiful young woman. It is not something I hear very often. I have another appointment in a fortnight’s time.
