I give up. I’ve been stalling replying to this thread because I’ve been trying to pull my weight back down but here’s the honest truth. 5’10” (178cm), shoe size 10/11 with a need for wide fitting in a 10, top/dress 18/20 or XL/XXL, bottom 14/16. Weight 90 kg and working on it. In summary I can buy in normal women’s stores eg Rockmans but would find a bigger range if I could just drop a few more kilos.

Height? Used to be 183cm, now down to 180cm due to shrinkage. Weight? never worry too much. One the most gorgeous members I’ve seen is a skyscraper but stunningly beautiful with it.
What’s inside that counts, not the height or width

I am 179cms tall, not thin at 95kgs and take a size 11 shoe!

Thanks VERY much for your post, Carol. I have been avoiding this thread for very similar reasons, and your post gave me the push to add my reply to this thread.
    Height: about 175cm
Weight: about 100Kg, and trying to lose weight.
Size depends on label and style, but 20/22/XXL is what I usually look for.

As far as buying ‘normal’ sizes, I wish.
The problem I hit isn’t the dress size of garments. Due to my, apparently below average, height it’s the length. Go to Autograph to buy a pair of jeans, I look for an overall length of about 95cm. The shortest overall length they currently have in jeans is 105cm. And I hit the same problem for skirts and dresses.

Gee gyrrls, I feel so petit. I used to think I was oversize to be wearing dresses, but after reading these posts feel great. (nice to know that you are “average”). But why do cloths makers vary so much, like a dress in 16 wont fit but a blouse or even tight top in 16 will. Are they just trying to play with our head ??

I’ve always been confused by sizing and particularly the assumption by manufacturers that if your waist size is larger so is your height.

I’m just under 6 ft on the old scale; I think that’s about 184 cm or so. When I wear 5 in. heels that makes me tower over everyone but I don’t care because I love the heels even at my age 66. My wife says when I dress I look 20 years younger. Nothing like a bit of flattery to lift a girl’s heart. :P

All my life I have been weight and health conscious, also never smoked, which helps the complexion. Since 16, I have been 1.7m and 64kgs, apart from when in hospital for legioniers disease where I dropped to 50kgs. So I am size 12 and wear a 8 1/2 shoe, which is great because this is pretty much and average female size and I have no trouble finding clothes at the second hand shops.
End of the day you have to love yourself and be happy with whom you are, or change!!
