  • How to remove eye makeup

    Roberta,

I use “Nivea Visage” extra gentle eye make-up remover.

    It’s available at most supermarkets.

Just apply it to a cotton pad and wipe – I find it very effective and no stringing of the eyes and gentle on the skin.

    Cheers,

    Wendy

    I use the universal creame.

Sorbaline. For cleaning face, shaving and makeup removal .

one observation. Sorbaline on shaved legs may increase ingrown hairs.

    I hope this helps.

I just use “mamia” baby wipes from ALDI! They are cheap, nice and moist, my baby loves them too! And they really remove makeup quite well.

IF it’s really stuck on then a dab of makeup removal cleansing cream does the final trick.

remove make up a small bottle of baby oil and a towel (hand towel) or soft rag, and clears it up and off all lipstick etc the trick is not to rub just a gentle smooth clean all over and use plenty of oil.. Kristina

I find baby oil the best remover following soap and water wash. It easily takes off kohl eyeliner and mascara, but at my age I don’t care if I don’t get it all off , cos being retired I don’t see many people , and I took advantage of this , had my ears pierced today and put a colour in my hair.Damn I love being a woman every chance I get, which is almost a daily affair, just wish it could be permanent. Hugs to all , Toni

Hi Girls, just use a standard makeup removal wipe available in several brands from priceline followed by a cleanser. Won’t leave a trace. Don’t forget the moisturiser after though.

    hello
i find that normal facial cleansing wipes work very good
nivea or a brand you can associate with, get even waterproof makeup off.
i buy good makeup as cheap isn’t always good.
the wipes work well on all types
i drive a truck normally doing deliveies, so its good to know makeup is off.

L’Oreal makes the best eyemakeup remover. They have two versions. One for ‘long lasting’ and waterproof makeup which you can tell on the shelf from the separation of the liquid into a dark blue on top and a light blue below. The other type is light blue all through. This will get even the most stubborn waterproof makeup off. It will also remove those staining lipsticks completely and is good for colorstay by Revlon as well, lipstick and foundation.

The best technique is to use a cotton wipe, apply enough remover to make the wipe fairly moist, press it on the eye for a minute or so to allow the remover to moisten and loosen the make up, and then gently wipe away. Turn the wipe over and do the other eye in the same way.

If you rub too much you won’t do the delicate skin around your eyes much of a favour, and I find that L’Oreal needs the minimum of fuss to completely remove all traces. I use the round Dove wipes. Other types can absorb too much of your remover and that’s not quite economical.

I’ve used almost all the methods mentioned here and they all have drawbacks, but this remover I’ve never had a problem with. It costs from $9 – 12 depending on where you shop.

The simplest, cheapest and fastest way to remove eye make-up is a paper towel and warm water. There will be a little residue which comes off very easily the next morning with the same treatment. I always leave a roll of paper towels in a prominent place so I don’t forget the next day and end up at work with make-up still showing. Of course this doesn’twork if you have to clean up before going home to an unforgiving spouse.

I found the removal wiped quite effective. Priceline has them, and they are not expensive.

I use exfoliation gloves with Sorbolene (a brand with no mineral oil I get from Woollies/Safeway) on my face and the Sorbolene with just my fingers to remove eye makeup. Seems easier on my skin to give it a go before bed and another in the morning. I always apply moisturiser after every removal. Very cheap and effective

    Hi,

I’ve been using Johnson’s Sensitive Skin Facial Wash for years. It’s soap-free, works well on the whole face as well as the eye region, and costs about $7, and if it’s not in your local supermarket then KMart, Target and Priceline all stock it,

    Regards, Julia

This is the same stuff I use and swear by it, makes getting eyeliner off very very easy, worth a try for sure.

Hi, I had to get into this string. I agree with Amanda, I always found that no matter what remover or technique I used I always ended up with a tinge of lippie which was quite noticeable, also, ’cause I love mascara I had some of that left as well, (just a bit of a tart really!!!:D )
My wife found L’OREAL’s ‘De-maq’ expert’ for me, ‘Cashmere Milk Complete Make-up Remover’ it is the best I have ever used and I have tried everything at some time or other. Use either a cotton ball or just finger tips and rub it in gently, it really shifts the lippie and mascara. It’s in a black and white tube,

I figure, that the nanny Fran fine had the right idea.
    Use someone else’s bathtowel. :P

How about L’oreal plenitude eye make up remover, and cotton balls.
It does a pretty good job without irritating the eyes.

    Cheers,
    Claire

apologies for being off topic, but yeah … franny fine … the epitome of good taste and style. she must have the best boot collection outside of imelda marcos … the lady in red when everybody else is wearing tan …

and l’oreal … very good. i personally use de-maq expert ultra rich make-up removing wipes. they come in a pack of 40 with a lid that prevents them from drying out, although with only 40, drying out is not a real concern, but it’s nice to know they will be fresh when needed.
