How welcoming are we?

I feel a bit uncomfortable when I enter the chat room, not because of anything any of the members do or say, but because I like to ‘pop in’ and see if there is any topic of interest to me, that I’d like to join in with, or just to listen for a while, or start my own topic.

The girls are invariably all nice to me, welcoming me, and so I feel very guilty if I feel after entering, and listening, that I realy don’t want to talk about that, and I don’t have any real contribution to make.
I feel like I’m being rude when I pop in, and then go.

But often, I just look in the chat room because I’m bored, and want to see if there’s anything interesting going on. I don’t mean any disrespect but as I’m a guilt and anxt- ridden person, that’s what I do. It’s all in me, noone else.
As amanda has said it’s O. k. to drop in and listen, I will probably do so more often. Please, don’t be offended if I leave soon after. It’s just me, off to do something else.

But it’s all me- I feel this way because it’s how I am. I’d like to be able to drop in, as in a real room, and say, “Hi”, just listen, and join in if I feel like it, or just pop out if I change my mind.

Thanks , and im sure all will be good , i hope to get out before transformal to one of the other events , but if i cant make it i hope to catch you for a chat and everyone else , it looks like it will be a great weekend , i have my tickets and acc sorted so im looking forward to it .

Hello girls,

Umm, to get back to the topic title, I was impressed with my welcome here.
I did join an American site recently before I knew TR existed. My welcome there was also warm and given the number of members in relation to what we have at TR in comparison it seemed much the same. Though my opinion is that more should be done here on TR. (a box of chocolates would be nice) If I had known about TR before hand I would have hesitated in joining with the Yanks, though I have been able to make some (friends) via the pm facility which we dont use.
The term friends in brackets relates to the intense sadness I felt, …. because these lovely girls I had made aquaintence with, …. were on the other side of the world. I can’t explain it, I had to have a cry, for some reason.

Now I’m so glad that I have found sisters in my OWN backyard !!

I am not sure if I will use the chat room, – its a bit like calling someone on the phone to find you’re speaking to a recorder – you dont want to say something stupid (as I quite often do) and so you get a brain freeze and clam up. Maybe in the future if I can build a circle of girlfriends, I may do that. But for now, count me out thanks.

AND another thing… I made a post on that yank site – it was a genuine concern that I spent nearly an hour typing – only to have it pulled by a mod. (after only 10 mins.) for being in the wrong forum, with a curt pm., the tone of which I took as offensive. There was NO attempt at diplomacy, nor educational allowance made towards a new member, and in short I was devastated. Still feel that way. Actually a similar thing happened with another mod. and different post, twice. I was editing my post when it was suddenly locked. Another curt message.
Makes me think some of those in control there perhaps maybe harbour a deep bias for whatever reason, and really enjoy throwing their weight around. But why alienate new members.?? To give credit, on the other hand, the mods. must tire of fruitcakes just as we all do. Given the vast populations of the ‘Good ‘Ole USA’, …. they must get plenty !!

Im on over 20 forums that are trans related any way in the main its a very good forum, i do get to know many of them.

I like here because iv met some of our people so thats nice so face to face is way cool. .
