I don’t know – what does SO mean?
Posted by Anonymous on 04/12/2006 at 10:32 pmI keep seeing the term SO in some messages. Could somebody enlighten me on what it stands for. I presume the term has something to do with wife or partner.

Guest05/12/2006 at 2:26 amHi Roberta, I understand the term to mean Supportive Other, meaning a partner who is aware and supportive of one of us.
I am fortunate enough to have a SO, my beautiful partner (a gg) who loves and supports me totally, in both girl and boy modes.
Hope this helps.
I wish you much love, peace and joy

Guest05/12/2006 at 6:47 amI like ‘supportive other’ Roberta – but I think SO stands for ‘significant other’. I could be wrong but I’m sure I’ve seen that term used on other sites.
Actually I believe it is an abbreviation that is used in the broader community.

Guest05/12/2006 at 1:11 pmHi I have also heard it described a significant other as well but maybe if we start something it could quite easily become supportive other

Guest06/12/2006 at 7:31 amOh no I always thougth it stood for Straight Otherhalf LOL 😳 I must agree in whole significant other would be more likely to mean a little more. I love the forums great to see what others are going through and how they feel.

Guest09/12/2006 at 2:14 pmHi, well it seems the accepted meaning of SO is significant other, but for me it will always be supportive other because that what my SO is.

Guest11/12/2006 at 7:35 pmI must thank all my friends for answering this enquiry. I like the Significant Other, as my wife is definetly significant in my life.
