    FUKUOKA —

A man was arrested for trespassing Sunday afternoon after he entered the women’s toilet at JR Moji Station in Kita-Kyushu City. Hiroshima resident Akimichi Kawamura, 44, was wearing white boots, a miniskirt and shoulder-length black wig, when he was arrested.

He was quoted by police as saying that he liked to go out dressed as a woman, but that he couldn’t enter the men’s toilet because of the way he was dressed.

According to police, they received a call from a woman reporting that a strange person had entered the women’s toilet at JR Moji Station. Kawamura told police he had dressed as a woman before setting out on a train trip, and was using the toilet before returning home.

Police say he could be recognized as a man immediately.

Not a surprising story from Japan, there are many cross dresses in Japan and to travel within the train system in Tokyo is fine but in a country area of Kita-Kyushu City may be asking a lot of the local residents.

But it is sad that someone can be arrested for the simple act of going to the bathroom. Hopefully the local law enforcement will not push forward to press charges.
