  • Is there a wrong way or right way to email your mother?

Here is what I sent to my mum as an email. Just a quick background she allready knows about my dressing and has dragged me to numerous psychs looking for a cure. After the second suicide attempt I basically blurted out when I came to about how unhappy I was with my life and for the lack of support I got from her.

    Hello mum….
Its now Saturday 1 am and just got home from a great evening. I am now involved with a group through the uniting church called Bfriend. Had first evening with them and had a fantastic time and a very nice dinner too ( I chose barramundi deep fried!)
This group comprises wholly of male to female and female to male transsexuals. They were very friendly and accepting and have made a few friends. After a few nervous moments I felt right @ home.

I am waiting to hear back from a psych. Who specialises in working with trans ppl. I am deadly serious about changing gender and nothing will stop me what so ever. I really don’t care if I ever get your blessing or not but I am happy with my decision. Ultimately it is time I was happy for once….

Should you be accepting you need to tell Fernando…but whatever he or anyone else really thinks I DON’T GIVE A SHIT!!!!

Hope both of you had a good evening too…

    Heaps of love from:

    Robert….
(will be changing name to robyn)

Very tender and thoughtful Robyn. Have you thought about a job in the diplomatic service? 😆

I can see your point of view and under the circumstances the email is probably quite apt.

You need to live your own life and ultimately others should let go and accept that.

    Hugs

I know just how hard it is to come out to your mother. It took a while but when she saw me as myself for the first time, she was surprised and the only comment she gave was ” It is you ” Well done my love.
