    Hi…..

I was chatting to my dear girlfriend who had just had SRS. She rang me from Thailand (Two Hours!) and had some great phone deal.
She had a little bit of trouble because she was also born intersexed having a penile length of only 2cm. and also born sterile.
This started me thinking so I did some web research and learned how to measure correctly. I found that my own penile length was only 3cm !
I was not sterile ( before HRT) and I have a beautiful son.
( I had previously thought eroneously, that you had to be sterile to be intersexed.)

I told all this to my Doctor and she ordered a Chromasome test.
She said it probablly wouldn’t prove anything and would probablly come back as the normal XY.
However she said that I was most likely mildly intersexed!
Now, this is the interresting part….. She said that she had noticed that this ( small penile length) was very common in transsexuals and that there was most likely a connection.
I dont think anyone has done a study on this….at least not that I am aware of. I feel a bit funny discussing such a ‘male’ topic here but I feel it is important to know if there is a medical basis for this thinking.
I want to know what I am medically…at least this is important to me.
Could it be that many transsexuals are also born mildly intersexed as well ? My Doctor seems to think so !
I am interested in your thoughts, experience, links to research, opinions, etc.
    Many thanks….
    Hugs

    Monique

    Hi Monique,

I’ve recently come to learn that it is now recognised there are “milder” forms of Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome – ‘Underviriled fertile male’.

For my self I fitted the ‘typical’ AIS build o being tall and very thin. Also, a lack of body hair and a lack of other typical male traits displayed by my 3 brothers.

AIS is an X linked chromosal ‘aberration’ (a normal variant as far as I’m concerned) so is likely to be passed on by XX daughters. XY daughters display Complete AIS

There are many Inter sex conditions basically all of them point to having either something in your makeup that is halfway between male & female (eg XXY chromosomes) or some parts being Male and other parts being female, so you could see all TS people as being intersex in that there brain of one sex while there body is the other.
