    Because of how this girl is believed to live, Police & McDonalds tried to dismiss this assault as being of no consequence. McDonalds have a history of being hostile towards gender non-conforming customers & employees

    Best of all: girls in Australia & in Britain are talking about a recent incident in a city in USA, & saying we won’t tolerate a person’s gender identity being used to trivialise and dismiss a prolonged assault of this nature. The assault brought on a seizure.

    It’s evoked a fear we all have of an unexpected assault while we go about our life. It’s a real fear. I know it’s not going to happen, but you also know there are violent people out there, none of whom have ever needed an excuse to be violent, but we’ll do for a mouthful of shit.

    When you’ve lived with the violence, it does bring up memories, & fears anxieties.

    Poor girl if she had defended her self and whipped those little moles , then there would have been a storm of hatred against transgender people, well land of the free, free to be self absorbed and ignorant, free to be intolerant of others and to believe that there is only one way, free to ignore the hatred bred in the cauldron of right wing fundamentlist “christian” america and perpetuated in the coridors of power.

    Lip service is paid to the rights of minorities, it is a phenomina prevalent in most every “civilized” society , we know better but we refuse to do better as a society.

    Rant over !

    Tania if the guy taped it for evidence for the police no one would be complaining. But he didn’t. He uploaded it to You Tube for entertainment. And his comments when negative feedback came back at him “Hey it’s really a guy in woman’s clothes” really underlined both his attitude and his transmysogeny. The whole thing is unforgivable IMHO.

    Have i missed were it hasn’t also been given to the police???? if it wasn’t for you tube then 95% of people would never have heard about it and wouldn’t be commenting on it

    Or transgender discrimination. This was a racial attack. I doubt they could tell she was trans. I heard they only worked out she was trans after they pulled off her wig. It’s a rough world out there girls. It’s good we are in a civilised country.

    Why blame macdonalds for it?

    Tania, the point isn’t that this assault was posted on YouTube, but the reason why it was posted on YouTube; & the response from Police & McDonalds to trivialise a prolonged assault on a young woman. For no other reason, the Police publicised this woman’s previous name – the victim of a serious crime, and tried to dismiss the assault as nothing.

    The phone-cam footage showed a continuing assault that lasted over 3 minutes – nobody called the Police. More relevant is that McDonalds would have in-house security footage, including in the bathroom – b&w & grainy, probably. How long did this assault actually last? And nobody called the Police.

    Police were only notified about a woman having a seizure in the store. The assault was not reported, only came to the attention of Police after objections were made about the YouTube footage. Nobody objected to a ghoul gleefully filming this assault, in fact, it can be seen, tried to get out of view when the ghoul panned over onlookers.

    The assault isn’t the major issue here. It’s the Corportate indifference, it’s the Police indifference, & it’s societal indifference – trivialising the incident with, well, her lifestyle exposes her to it (& we’ll never tolerate her efforts to leave this Slough of Despond)

    Following from this, several recent incidents of Trans-discrimination have come to light by McDonalds Corp. in the USA. A schoolgirl in Florida, this January, refused employment because she is gender non-conforming.

    McDonalds Corp are not good community citizens. They acticely discriminate, hold Australia law to contempt, and believe they can dismiss it as nothing. As long as there’s a policy that meets their legal obligation

    Have you written to McDonalds and asked them what is their attitude to workplace disctimination? I did last week, & haven’t yet received a reply. All the execs don’t work Public Holidays, and are paid a liveable wage

    Quote:
    Ms Polis, 22, said she heard her assailants saying “That’s a dude, that’s a dude – and he’s in the female bathroom.”

    So, McDonalds know the 18 year old. She’s previously been charged following a violent assault upon another woman in that same store – isn’t the world fortunate this woman’s uncontrolled violent outbursts have been shown to the world. The Police are under scrutiny to ensure this woman doesn’t progress to murdering somebody, and destroying her own as well as other people’s lives.

    McDonalds were happy for this known violent person to continue visiting their store – don’t they have a policy about violent people, or carrying weapons. No, you’re only undesirable, (sorry, “inappropriate”), if you offend a person’s sight or evoke unclean thoughts.

    The good thing is, the 18 year old has had her $150,000 bail order rescinded, & she’s off the streets, hopefully receiving some psychological assessment & support. And Crissey is doing what? Recovering her wounds. The attached article has barely acknowledged Chrissey – 10 days ago she was being bashed, having a seizure. I’m happy if she’s trying to get on with her life.

    If the children employed by McDonalds are to ‘innocent’ for the Corporation to discuss & educate their child labour on how to deal with an assault when they’re at work, and their legal obligations regarding discrimination legislation & service of customers, then they shouldn’t be working in McDonald’s stores where these children are being paid minimal wage & being exposed to life.

    No sorry i have better things to do with my time then writing to a place i have not eaten at for over 20 years as i refuse to eat the garbage they claim as food they sell just to be told they are breaking the law. It is also not allowed to have camera’s in rest rooms at all as this is an evasion of privacy. But all i can say is what ever i actually don’t really care any more i hope the person recovers from the bashing.

    The thing is, Christina, that as far as McD’s are concerned, the child wage slaves are NOT employed by McD’s, but rather are employed by the franchise holder. And that all the problems in this matter are for the franchise holder to resolve.

    Dear Christina,

    Thank you for your feedback.

    We have been made aware of this incident by our McDonald’s colleagues in the United States. We can assure you there is no room for violence under the Golden Arches. We strongly condemn the videotaped brutal assault in one of the Baltimore-area franchised restaurants.

    First and foremost, our thoughts are with the victim, Chrissy Polis, as she recovers.

    The restaurant franchisee continues to investigate the behaviour and response of his employees. Appropriate action is taking place as warranted.

    We do care about our employees and our customers and we take as many proactive measures as possible to ensure that their safety and security is a top priority, including employee training, strict security protocols and consultative working relationships with local police. CCTV, both inside and outside the restaurant, is a minimum standard at all McDonald’s restaurants across the country. Many restaurants also employ an additional security presence during later hours.

    We share our customers’ concern. We want to reassure our customers that your neighbourhood McDonald’s is a safe welcoming place for everyone.

    Regards,

    Mark

    Yes, I looked at the video. I can’t add anymore words to what is said.

    * Self protection
    * Look better

    Do a self defence program. In this increasing violent world I can regretablly imagine this will happen more and more

    If this lass had self defence capability the outcome here would be different and those sorry asses would have their tails berween their legs
