    Mind over matter

Posted by Anonymous on 10/08/2012 at 4:23 pm

There is a lot of information out there regarding HRT, of varying quality. One piece of information intrigues me; Skin changes (I’m assuming it is the change of fat layers under the epidermis), becoming more “sensitive”.
Sensitive isn’t clearly defined from what I’ve read. What I’ve noticed is that with reduced/no body hard, skin feels touchable, amazing, alive.
For those on HRT, is that “sensitive” feeling just reduced body hair as a result of the treatment, the clearer skin? Or something more tactile, more physical/emotional/mental?

    Hi,

Depends on who you talk to, thier age wether they have missused thier body over many years or been on drugs or hard meds or a number of other detils that many men seem to do .

my self im 65 my skin is pretty good my background played a big part in that & yes its softer & olive ,

i wont say like a younger woman though i do have an edge over many men health wise as well. i looked after myself very well knowing one day i would be liveing as a normal woman. as to hair yes with the help of an eperlater my hair is about 8 % , no lazers or any other form of hair remover,

As to meds a low dose just to maintain my body. a low dose,

my difference is as most know im intersexed, so i have some advantages & some disadvantages, over all im happy with in myself ,

Fat layers interesting ? im the same weight now as i was 46 years ago, i give myself a 5 lb up or down winter / summer detail ,

As to Psychologacally & Emotionally pretty much the same all my life from age 10 , my difference is in being able to express my self as a person first , then as a female / woman when your born both male & female there are differences that are a part of you, & a while before my changes started to take place , were from with in . nothing at all to do with meds H R T or any other out side influance, you see our own hormones for me any ways did change , that of cause was over a few years, as my body went through those changes ,

Then later on H R T was a part of other changes that would take place, Plus surgery’s,

Yes a bit more than you asked for, still something different ,

& as far as most people are concerned im just accepted as a male facial featured woman just not trying to be any different than who i am.

And accepted in to with out ? women only here & world wide groups .

I have found that since being on Hrt that my skin is softer and clearer.
That is what a woman that knows all about me has stated also. My head hair has thickened and my body hair has become softer and a lot lighter. what there is off it after laser on most of it. Mentally I feel so much calmer and when your specialist tells you your hormone levels are the same as a 45-50 year old woman that just does wonders to the mind and soul. :)

    Hi Sarah,

Yes there is a change to the fat layer, but what may be more prominent is the top layer of skin. It becomes thinner, making it more suseptable to damage , through abrasions with hard surfaces.

The thinning of the skin does make it more sensitive.

Hope you are enjoying the experience.

Catherine thank you. :) Should be interesting. I wasn’t gifted with good coordination so I’m very accident prone… Sometimes with entertaining results! I find I scratch and mark easily now and that cut marks take a long time to fade. May have to start wrapping myself in bubble wrap!
