    Good Evening

Just following up on my earlier post about…..

The Rocky Horror Show Saturday 12 April’08 9.00pm Star City

Those of you who have booked – great! Those of you who have booked and paid – even better! Those of you who have promised but not done anything yet – oh dear! Time is running out!

Yes, I know, we girls traditionally leave things to the last minute. It is the very nature of the lives we lead.

Unfortunately, this one isn’t like that! The Rocky Horror Show is already hugely popular and it hasn’t even started yet! Go figure? Saturday nights are the first to get booked out; that’s why we couldn’t get a group booking until 12th April’08.

The first block of 12 tickets has been taken up and the second block of 12 is moving steadily. I have to pay again on 8th February’08 – no problems as I won’t get left holding the baby! After that, I don’t know if I can get more tickets without getting caught out financially or if they’re even available.

But who’s going so far, you ask? My lips are sealed, of course, girls, but suffice to say largely ladies who dress (some for the first time out and some out forever), some genuine girls and some who are not too sure… Everyone will know at least someone and after the warm-up drinks on the roof at the Waldorf you’ll know everyone!

So decision time! If you are thinking of going, act now before it’s too late.

For all the lucky girls who have got a ticket to this Jan Spectacular
    – you are probably starting to ask – what shall I wear.
If you are not then you are obviously not a real girl!

So here is a link I found to help the virgins (like me) along….

    http://www.timewarp.org.uk/1virgins.htm

This gives the golden rule for dressing for RHS
‘There will always be someone who looks more out of place.’

Hey girls – what are we waiting for!

Thanks to all who attended the Rocky Horror Show Weekend. Thanks for all your calls, texts, emails, photos and posts. Much appreciated!

Yes, it was a great weekend! I am rather relieved. Thank you all for your support and making it such a success.

The Waldorf was its usual comfortable, accepting friendly self. We will miss Matthew and Justin! And what a stunning way to start things off Friday night…but hey, why wasn’t I invited?

Drinks on the Roof. Girls from out of town, country and interstate. Nice to have Sharon White, our friend from Adelaide looking after make-up and good times. Yes, good company, stunning outfits – a selection of corsets with lots of little blacks and fishnets with just a glimpse of suspenders. A few drinks, photos and social chat in the warm Sydney autumn twilight. Good to see a smattering of new girls, some out for the first time! As well as a number of real girls, what would we do without them!

Chao Praya restaurant, right on the money, fed and watered and out of there. Learnt a useful girl technique. When the going gets tough, head for the Ladies and when you return, all will be resolved. And so it was, the bill was reconciled, sorted and paid – thanks girls! As some of you will know, I am hopeless with bills, even when sober.

A special surprise was having two of the stars drop in over dinner – Iota (Frank n Furter) and Tamsin Carrol (Magenta). I was stunned by Iota, I’d seen him before in “Hedwig and the Angry Inch” (an earlier Jan adventure) and was struck by what a nice, unassuming young man he appeared to be. Only to see him very much larger than life as the evil, carnal, pleasure seeking Frank an hour later.

The show. Well, what to say. What an experience. I loved Janet, though on reflection I’m not sure whether it was her or her lingerie. Hmmm probably both! Damn it, Janet! Timewarp, dancing in the aisles, lovely.

For me the evening finished on a high note. Literally! Level 17 in the Astral Bar high above the Casino. Pure indulgence on my part as I’d been wanting to go. Heavenly views and glamorous atmosphere. But maybe not the place where one would have one too many!

Recovery the next day with a few girls over a leisurely long lunch of eggs benedict and champagne at Bar Matino around from the Waldorf.

So what’s next you ask? Well, I’ve gone a little quiet and back to mainstream. Maybe a few small private events and the odd restaurant night around town. I’m also off to the Agender Conference in New Zealand. No, don’t even think about asking!

Then there’s the TgR Christmas Party at the end of this year. We set a high benchmark last year but I’m sure we can do something equally as good. The usual ingredients – a comfortable place to stay, elegant venue, good food, drink, music and dancing. And of course good company! Let me know what you think!

As Frank says (to Janet) “Don’t get hot and flustered. Use a bit of mustard.” On that cheerful final note. Goodnight XXX Jan

Thanks Jan, it was a classic night out and everyone looked great! The taxi no-show was a battle of nerves that we came through like troupers! Wish I’d paced myself better but still enjoyed it all. And my apologies for causing a hotel evacuation on the Friday, ta for your intercession which got me out of the call out fee!
