NSW: Where to get a new wig in Sydney?
Posted by Anonymous on 26/09/2012 at 9:09 pmOk, my wig is looking pretty sad now so it’s time for a new one. Are there many good quality wig stores in Sydney? Individual Wig is on Oxford street but are there any others not to far away from the centre of the city? It would be good to have several choices as I can be a fussy girl!

Hi Christine,
Soho Wigs is close, on Pelican St. They seem to have a large range, I say “seem” because I have only window shopped there. There used to be another wig shop on Oxford St called “Wigs by Vanity”, and “House Of Priscilla” used to sell wigs too. If you want to venture across Hyde Park, then there is “Wig Affair” in Pitt St, and Suzanne’s in Castlereagh St. I’m sure there would be a few more listed in the Yellow Pages.

Guest01/10/2012 at 9:25 amHi Christine,
This may seem a little silly but why dont you look at the Seahorse Society website . It lists several shops that are TG friendly:http://www.seahorsesoc.org/resources/guide/5.html
Have a great day shopping. And remember, new wig, new shoes, new outfit, new makeup !!
Any excuse to shop

Why?
Possibly because each list is only as complete as the members contributions (just like this site).Of the 7 shops listed on the Seahorse Web Site only 3 are in Sydney (which is what Christine is looking for).
And only one of those hasn’t been already discussed in this thread….My Sister’s Hair
Willander Court Bld, Williams St Entrance,
Suite 12, 151-153 Pacific Highway
Hornsby NSW 2077
(on-line shop with consultations by appointment only)I can’t find any testimonials from TgR members about either Soho Wigs or My Sister’s Hair. So these might be a bit of a gamble.
(If anyone has used these stores perhaps they could post a review???)On the other hand Individual Wigs and the Breast Form Store have plenty of positive comments in the forum.

Christine
I have just got my new wig from the Individual Wig in oxford street only this sat passed , they were nice and had a good range .
Must say though , not the cheapest in have found , but i did go for a human long hair wig ……couldnt help myself …… but it is beautiful , and they helped with the fitting style etc , i did not go in dressed but they were more than happy for me to if i wanted , so i would make the trip to them if you can .
They also can put you on there records for future purchases , which i have done , great girls in there indeed .
May go blonde next time …….mmmm??

Guest18/10/2012 at 9:45 amI just got a new wig.. the old one looked OK but would get tangled very easily and was hard to detangle. Especially after dancing around in it!
The new one is a different kind of plastic I guess? Much better.. anyway the shop is on the second level of Market City near Gloria Jeans. They only have about 10 wig styles but they look decent considering they’re all under $100.

Guest20/10/2012 at 8:35 pmI didn’t realise there were so many options in the city. Thankyou for all the advice girls, I really appreciate it!.

I always go to Wig Affair in Pitt Street Sydney. You pay more than on-line sure. But you get twice the value. And so you look twice as good!. xx
