Hi all, the taxi club was a great place to kick start the night and meet others. Where does everyone meet now to go out or meet up to dance and have fun ?

Hi Louise! There’s still loads of places.. obviously they are on Oxford St. for the most part:

The Colombian – good for a ‘quiet’ drink or warming up before a club. Gets busy later on in the night though.
Nevermind – good music but the line is always long, standard GLBT crowd
ARQ – music OK, lots of T-girls go there but they always get there late, after 2am.. except me :P
Ruby Rabbit – this one is tiny, more like a restaurant than a club, but it’s nice and relaxing. good food!
Kinselas – ditto, relaxing but boring sometimes

In the year and a half since Andi posted her list two of the venues seem to have closed.

Can anyone offer some suggestion for a couple coming to Australia from the US? They are looking for trans* nightclubs or venues where they can have a good time and enjoy a night out as a transgender person and supportive partner.

They are looking to arrive in Sydney in early April. For some reason I can’t seem to convince them that Canberra is a hotbed or trans* fun and partying. Go figure.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
