okay so you’re dressed, now what?
Posted by Melissa_Mills on 21/01/2009 at 7:14 amI guess these questions are aimed at the part time girls but anyone is free to answer.
Okay so for those who only get to dress from time to time, what do you do when you dress?
Do you just do the same things you would have done that day or for that short time frame but you do it in girl mode?
Do you go out during that time?
If yes, what do you do? go shopping, to the movies etc or just go for a quick stroll around the block or a drive?
Is that something you want to do (go out) if you dont already do it?Anonymous replied 14 years, 6 months ago 1 Member · 8 Replies -

Guest17/07/2009 at 2:06 pmHi Melissa
The mood ranges with myself, I gone out and enjoyed but for me now the comfort of home is more my style these days and being more at ease with myself over making mistakes as I have done in the past.
The trouble is you dare to be yourself others will not share your views and so it is more relaxed to live in a world you have some control over.
A complex question for myself is my family are well aware I cross dress and have to wear many roles, or in my case hat and wig, 😉
I find myself more at ease as single person over being with wolf pack.
Some times Safety in numbers is not the answer. But my point being is finding that strange balllance, knowing your limits and being happy with them. This is for myself and I am who I am is the answer I been seeking for myself. Now everyone is confused I think I best stop there. 😆

Guest22/07/2009 at 10:15 amWhen I was single, I used to do everyday things in girl mode a lot after work and on the weekend. The grocery store was probably my favorite place to go. Now that I’m married, I’ve restricted my girl outings to clubs once every month or two. Not that I don’t have support for my femme side at home, because I do — but these days, given a choice between an hour or two getting dressed, or an hour or two of family time, I take the latter.

Guest24/07/2009 at 11:38 amMel,
I find I get dressed and spend longer and longer dressed. When I dress I love to go out for a drive and/or walk. The longer I dress the more I want to go out and now I find myself going out at least twice a week.

Guest08/08/2009 at 12:22 amWell as a full time girl, I can’t necessarily offer the advice you want, however what I will say is:
Do what you normally would do, providing you feel comfortable. Otherwise, arrange to go out somewhere (outting etc) with friends.
Take care,

Guest08/08/2009 at 12:22 pmI dress everyday, and try and go out once a month at the Sportsman. When I’m there, I’m female, I make myself beautiful and hope people see me that way.

Guest21/08/2009 at 9:52 pmhello Melissa
Before I told my wife about my cross-dressing I just get dressed and do the housework on my days off work. Then in the last few years I tried going out finally making it to transfusions 2008. This was a milestone for me as now I could meet people that I only talk to in the chat room. And with the help of people and support from others from TR like Amanda, Caroline & Jan gave me the confidence to move on.
But now that my wife knows and understands what and why I am doing, I have found more freedom to express myself and going out is part of my evolution.
So now if there a party or if someone wants to go out the first time I will try to be there for them as others were there for me. I still only dress a little more than I did before and finding TR with a good support network has helped me to do more than I ever thought. I have always found being part of a group or now community a need to help others and learn from people around you. I must admit my outings and never anywhere where I am known or live, I still play it safe.Penny

Guest22/08/2009 at 3:20 amHi everyone. Before I went fulltime and started my transition process, I would do whatever I wanted to when I was dressed. I would also go wherever I wanted to as well, the only thing that I always kept remembering was to keep the “eyes in the back of my head open” also. As life went on and progressed, I found that I didn’t do my face or anything like that to just do housework and so on, if I did makeup then I was leaving the house.
That was how things started for me, by the time of Rocky Horror in April 2008 [thanks Jan!] I was only doing my face to most definitely leave the house.
