A new event at a most interesting time of the year, it sounds like a worthwhile endeavour to support. As time gets closer to the event we will all find out more about it.

Congratulations Amanda on planning a lovely event for us all.

Thanks for your support Donna and Penny.

We are now over the half way mark to putting this event on the calendar.
Keep voting girls – and keep posting any suggestions you have that would make a may-be event into a must-go event for you.

Susan has pointed out that there is a Wilderness event in Katoomba on the 1st May – so I should perhaps stress that the date for transFormal is currently not confirmed. If the hotel cannot provide enough rooms on the 1st then it will probably shift to the 8th.

Just cast my vote for maybe – would have definitely said yes but my personal situation re work etc is a bit up in the air just now and not 100% sure where I’ll be geographically in May.
It sounds great, it’s been a while since I’ve done anything TR-related so if I can make it I will.

    Thanks Shelly.
Who knows if we can get over this big hurdle of putting the event on the calendar this year – then it should be easy(ier) to do it the next year
    – if that is what the girls want…
..See you at transFormal 2011 !!!

Love Katoomba Love the Carrington, but I would not be able to attend this year. Maybe next year? same venue or maybe the Hydro Majestic Both Hotels extremely classy with great period restoration work?

Still a fantastic idea and a great place to go, away from the mainstream with a lot of private areas to go. Love it don’t give up!!

This event concept has been advertised now for just over a week – and I’ve emailed directly over 260 members who live in NSW or ACT. Just 47 girls have responded and voted in the poll. I know it was over a major holiday weekend – hardly the best time to contact everyone – so I’m hoping that as people return to work over the next few days they will also find time to leave some feedback about TransFormal.

It is very encouraging that many who voted are very enthusiastic about the event. In fact I have received no negative feedback other than warnings that I might be being wildly optimistic to think we could get 90 people to the event.

But with only 30 pledged ticket sales and a break even point of close to 60 I’m still looking for a bit more solid support before sticking my neck out and putting down a deposit.

So come on girls! The holiday is over – time to think about what you are doing in May!

    Hi Amanda,
sounds a brilliant idea,I love the blue mountains and would love to hear a chorus of that old music hall favorite “Champagne Charlene is my name” I didn’t realize Champagne Charlie comes from Queen Victoria dad’s time. Anyhoo unfortunately I will be in Perth. But fantastic idea, maybe next year

Actually Amanda the more I think about Katoomba the more I would like to attend this year, I have had some great holidays there in the past. We used to stay at The Cecil Guesthouse for the Christmas in July weekends, great fun. Change my vote to a maybe I will have to do some fast talking but might be able to convince my SO to come to.

    Morning Amanda,
This is a fantastic opportunity to have an event that would be soooo much fun. Please do not let low responses tint your perception of us. I would love to do something like this even if it cost lots more. Or, even if it was just a get together over the weekend of a smaller group of us with no major dinner party planned. Keep going…..Please???

I have spoken to the hotel and they are holding the venue for the 15th May.

This date has no clashes at the hotel – and they can guarantee room availability. No Wilderness Society, Weddings or White Xmas to spoil our weekend!

    Transformal 2010 – SATURDAY 15th MAY

So, girls, this is as definite a date as they come…..
I’ve updated the flier…now all we need to fix is numbers and pricing…..
I’m going to Katoomba next Tuesday to finalise the details (I hope).

What are you going to be doing on the 15th May 2010?

Hello Amanda, sorry about taking so long to make up my mind, had to discuss it with Enya to decide if we could afford it, for someone who whinges about paying $10 for a hamburger, $90 for a buffet takes a bit of getting used to, however we’re both keen to come down from Grafton for what sounds like a great weekend, really look forward to being one of the 43 or so sisters, is the room tariff per person or per room?
    hugs

The 15th is good for me at this point so I will work towards this, I don’t know about the accomodation though. As in the previous post, per room or person? If things happen and I have to start working every weekend instead of every 2nd then that will be the only reason that I am not there.

Come on girls, ladies and women of TR, let’s do this and make it work. I’m prepared, even if I buy a ticket and my work changes afterwards to lose that cash. So many people want events/things to happen but never commit so no ifs, buts or maybes, do this.

    Peta A.
